I'm surprised you didn't notice HnG last year considering the fact that Nagi was a finalist and Hinagiku won Best Moe.

I think one of Saimoe's purpose got to you. Which is the advertising of anime.

Similar to what you did, last year I watched HnG because the HnG girls were doing pretty well on Saimoe 2007. And this year I started BamBoo Blade, Night Wizard and Darker than BLACK because of Saimoe 2008. All turned out to be decent anime - personal opinion of course.

I did notice HnG, but from what I understand, Hayate, Nagi, and Maria are the main characters, so Hina sorta went under the radar. I didn't follow K-Saimoe last year. Don't worry, I'll get around to HnG eventually, but right now, my itinerary for anime is overwhelming. After Higurashi, I've got Denno Coil, Aria (3 seasons), and Code Geass (2 seasons) to trudge through, along with the 7 current series I'm following.

Oh silly Archanfels, should I dig up some last year's quotes when Kagami lost? You've really no right to talk like that. Though you're right, Saimoe fails when your favorite loses, it's only natural to have those feelings if you feel moe for that character.

I've no comment on the other discussion topic, the "I don't like moeblobs because I'm such an intellectual fan". Pretentious... and I'll leave at that.

Then Saimoe 2007 served its function. That's why the organizers strongly urge people to put in moe-bun with the votes... it is all about helping you get to know series and characters you don't know about yet.... you never know what you might find out there... bamboo blade is on my dl list now ... and there are a couple others I am going to check out this year.... but more importantly I found out about Index from Saimoe2008 (even if she isn't a player in 2008, but will in 2009) ... and Im now addicted to it

Just an hour or so until the next battle begins..

It's too early to tell but from what I have watched so far I can say that the Kannagi and Toradora characters, and Index should be major players in SaiMoe next year.

Nagi must win Saimoe 2009! Next year's Saimoe will be so exciting and I have tons of characters that I will be supporting so hopefully one of them will win.

We all mention new possible players. This year it turned out that Nagisa, out of such a wonderful selection, won the best rookie award.

I sure hope that Taiga, Nagi & Index go far, though. Also Nogizaka Haruka <3. (Zephyr, make an Index sig that I can borrow until next Saimoe please ;_; ).

Japan will also be fielding an entire squadron of pantsless loli, though, right? To a certain someone in this thread, it might seem like Armageddon.

The difference being, Shana and Nagi are likable characters who don't make a habit of beating/degrading the male lead--Taiga is worse than Louise, who I see isn't on your list...
