okay! Now I must retract my statement about hainan ji fan...
Souma's dish is definitely superior since the mixed ingredients have given arise of new flavor.. while Eizan's dish would always have that kind of flavor

in other word, Erina's word has explained it all... Creating new flavor is more superior than using best ingredient with best technique
Adventurous attitude in cooking is the best

Despite seeing Eizan's crushing defeat, I'm here just enjoying to watch Erina's cuteness when she blended together with Polar Star people
Those few pages are gold!

Anyway, I'm also glad that Souma won. And I also agree with the people who are seeing that Eizan is either just rusty or didn't go all out.

But it could also be that Eizan really did get into the Elite 10 not through his cooking but only through his talent in finance management and stuff. In which case his loss to Souma is completely understandable and justified.

And yeah, I also think Erina's going to start going through some good growth starting from now. I'm looking forward to it.
Sharp cannies and cat/dragon eyes.

Yeah, that, too. Her face definitely betrays her if she wanted to say she's human. But again, this isn't the kind of manga that would have non-human characters.

@Noobita: Yeah, if it were Azami, he'd probably like Erina had. But I don't that the Erina of now would lie, herself.

Erina only lied to Souma and no-one else so far in terms of tasting. And that was just once in the very begining.
She may become honest with Souma's food now. Maybe she wont. Cant say untill we see Erina tasting Souma's food again. I doubt she would lie during her professional tasting unless it has flaws (Again, except when Souma is possibly involved in it).

She is just Tsundere for Soma's food
She seemed pretty serious when she gave her opinion on the PSD members(who are far from being top-tiers even among the 1st years)

Yup. I meant the old Erina. However, I kinda believed that current she will still lie about Soma's food after the testing but in comedy manner instead of hostile manner.

Love her reactions in the flashback in this chapter. No one is PSD treats her as a princess but a friend.

They're definitely not scrubs, since they managed to survive their 1st year till now. Nothing to do with whether they're "PPV" material or not; it's about him winning cleanly in a Shokugeki.

There you have it.

With extremely biased judging on show, the tendency not to go all out is there, but doing "just enough" would suffice.

I'm still calling this entire match a farce, with poor and lazy writing on full display.

Nope. This entire is extremely well-written, funny, and it shows the power of PSD and Soma's growth. You are just being salty. Knowing you, you will be the first one who jumped in to praise the match non-stop if Eizan had won.

Doesn't matter if they "survived" the first year. They weren't worth a thing since two of the people that Soma beat got 3 pages of relevance, along with the fact that the author didn't even bother to reveal their name.

It doesn't go well with your argument if you suddenly try to bring the manga world into it. We're all talking and thinking about this from the point of view of the reader and the writer. Those victories that Soma had didn't have any impact or any relevance whatsoever when they occurred to anyone and you know it given that the only named character was introduced that very same chapter and was used as fodder afterwards. If those characters were meant to have an impact they would have been fleshed out and would have lasted more than half a chapter against Soma. The meaningful matches that are built up are what people are looking for and this one against Eizen is the first one Soma has won since Subaru.

Still not buying into Erina's "change", too much of a 180 on a characters personality for me to ever accept it, in my opinion it was handled in the most generic way by introducing someone "worse", that alone made me lose reslect for the writing of this manga, the cooking parts are just fine but when it comes to the characters and their stories I can't take them seriously anymore.

Erina never had enough screen time for me to completely understand her character, but now that I know how she was apparently 'brainwashed' i can move on from her previous actions and start to enjoy her character as long as the author doesn't screw up again
But yeah a little foreshadowing in the first 130 chapters would have made it seem less forced

As for the complete 180 of characters, years of reading shounen prepared me to deal with that without being too bothered but that's just me

Actually his name was revealed in the same chapter he got beaten.
Also part of Souma's victory goes to him as Souma learned his skewering techniques.

I don't think this cover is meant to be liked by us readers in any form. It's an accurate representation of Erina's captivity, though.

I summon mind break doujinshi

Now I need a fan cover of Rindou with any of her goofy chibi reactions to wipe away the h-doujin material I just saw in that cover-.-.

Could someone edit Azami out of the picture so we could actually enjoy it

Feels weirder knowing that the guy is a hentai artist

He was pure vanilla though.... Maybe work for WSJ woke up his dark side?

I'm gonna try and redraw it with Soma instead.
