Honestly the thing I'm most looking forward to is the general reaction to Tanikaze hooking up with Tsugimi. I mean, what?

If that is what will happen in the anime. I never expect anime to completely reflect manga, and vise versa.

I just rewatched the entire first series, Blu-Ray version, and liked it even more than I did the first time through. One of the best sci-fi shows I've seen. Maybe I will read the manga. The setting is so interesting, and even though I have a basic dislike for monster shows, this one is different enough to be enjoyable. What I particularly like about this show is that they make the future society strange enough to be interesting, but real enough to take seriously. I'm not so sure that some of the details work logically, but close enough.

I hadn't realized that this show got some high praise from top names in the Japanese anime world until I read the Wikipedia article.

I watched the "director's cut" version of ep12, and I recommend it. Not a big difference, but an important and powerful one.

Anyway: second season? Bring it on!

Oh I haven't seen the director's cut version. I better go watch that before season 2 starts. Can't wait for that.

I get the feeling that Kunato is going to be the same gold-plated bastard he was in Season 1.
