Let's put it another way. The principal said that if Kamito could tap into his original power 3 years ago or "awaken" (something Kamito hasn't done yet..., I think. Though that missing memory is suspicious), he could solo through everyone alone with the exception of the current Ren Ashbell. Right now a heavily nerfed Kamito with nerfed sword spirit (1/10th of her power) is carrying the team... |

yeah, especially when the opposition is so much more powerful that everything just bounces off. I don't remember the specific events of every volume, but that's what it felt like at the climax of every volume.

It's not that the lead makes the others look useless. It's because everyone else IS useless. A big problem is that most of them are high class ladies that haven't had much true combat experience. When you're facing enemies from the convent who have tons of actual combat experience, only someone who has as much or more experience (i.e. Kamito) can handle the job. Kamito is already heavily nerfed in skill, body, and sword spirit yet he is STILL overshadowing the rest of the team. *facepalm*
If he had his original powers, he could blow everyone out of the waters. Now that would be a true OP lead. |

Although this sounds sorta annoying if Kamito is the only person that's useful. |

In truth, the girls aren't bad, but against the caliber of opponents (actual killers with combat experience) they're facing..., they're useless.
The real problem is the chemistry among them. The likes of Ellis, Claire, and Rinslet are all powerful among the other contenders. Sure there is the occasionally super powered Dragon girl here and there, but for the most part, Ellis, Claire, and Rislet aren't bad. However, this novel is not exactly focusing on "regular" opponents is it? |

The actions of the girls seriously contradict what the author describes them to be, especially Claire. Even though she's hard to handle by most accounts, prone to be involved in arguments, the author actually described her as a "great diplomat" and chose her to accompany Kamito to negotiated with Mira's team in volume six.
