Episode 12:
It's not always easy to accept a loss.. Pretty chill episode. What I found rather interesting about the episode is the background storytelling for Chikako. We also get a glimpse of Kazama's past too. I'm sure these guys will get over their loss soon and get back up to rebuild themselves. Kazama took that a bit harder than expected though. The ending with Chikako is interesting considering that she genuinely cares about Tsukamoto.

Not surprising they lost but for some reason I feel frustrated with Tsukamoto's character. It just feels like he's going in circles, which is getting quite tiring to watch. He seriously needs to do more than simply run laps!
I guess I feel frustrated with this series in that it stretches Tsukamoto's character a little too beyond believable. With their lost, I keep thinking this is the inevitable consequence when you put someone who is not yet capable of playing in the field during an important match.

Good job ubakata for helping our hero cry, really emotional chapter, kazama crying affected me more. It was pretty funny the last scene with the guys seeing them together and ubakata thinking how to kill them. lol

I'm not one for the crying in this episode. If only the writer authored Tsukamoto's character better, some of us would not be as frustrated with the show.
The only cool thing was the captain Mizuki showing up in an all out tux/suit to the post game party. |

This is one of the most frustrating spokons I've ever watched... I really hope Tsukamoto does something apart from running from now on, because in a normal team he would never play again
Nice scene in the end, I like Ubutaka more each episode. Next we have a breathing episode it seems... maybe some development for the childhood friend? |

What is it with having shonen protagonists who start off dumb as *uck or with a lack of skills but have this "ability" to rally their friends/comrades and change the tide into something positive? Why is this manga/anime formula used and abused? Naruto is a prime example and this series featuring Tsukamoto is another.

yeah. this show irritates me. we haven't really gone anywhere in the 12 eps we've gotten so far. not only is the way the author depicts soccer completely wrong, but the sheer lack of player development tsukamoto has had boggles my mind. even if i didn't like area no kishi as much as i do, this would just be a below average to average show.

Well several things this week.
First of all, decent new OP song, sound similar to the first one but I'm alright with it especially the choreography. Second, it's about mid-season so a breather episode at this point makes sense. Tsukamoto also got some nice moments with Sayuri and Usui. One interesting part about Usui is that he made Tsukamoto rethink about what he wants to do "for the team". Decent development episode, really interesting to learn more about Usui.

Wow, Sayuri has spunk! As a childhood friend, I'm sure she tolerates Tsukamoto to no end, but he's still dull as a basket case when it comes to social settings.
The talk with Usui was good, and probably necessary, and I liked his comments about thinking selfishly when Mizuki became a better soccer player. But...in the end, what happens? More running?! Like seriously, WTF?! I don't think Forrest Gump ever ran this much. This anime should be re-titled to "Running for Days" |

This episode was the best so far for me. It was hilarious!
...but Tsukamoto seriously needs to stop running...he does know that there's more to soccer than just running, right?

At least kick a ball sometime!!!
Poor Sayurin abandoned by her childhood friend... and no even for another girl!! It's just me who finds weird that Tsukamoto plays as a Center Forward? If his only redeeming quality is that he runs much, wouldn't make more sense to play as Right Forward or to make him learn how to center? And I said it only because I guess that it would be a little boring having the main character play righ back... |

I think you are giving him too much credit. The coach already conveyed the writing strategy that the author wants for this series. He wants the MC to fail and stand up so that the MC can fail again. It is going to be a long fail-fest at this rate, which are the types of series I despise

Well Tsukamoto isn't the best player on the field for sure but I gotta give him some credit for trying especially when sliding with assists.
Really nice to see Mayumi Himura a bit this episode especially considering he's a good player on Seikan's team by rumors. The man service part was pretty amusing. Otherwise, I think Seikan is going to be a tough for any team to take down. Kazama probably realized that awhile ago.
