Well, so this is one of the few ongoing shows I still watch.
Episode 9 was weaker, less exciting than average, as it had only a couple of comedy moments and not much of a story or visual attractiveness.

Spoiler for plot:

An alien gathers all the Miina's on his spaceship and orders them to play ping-pong with him, threatening to expose them. Of course, he uses a dirty trick - his telepathy - to psychologically break them and thus win.

Well, the alien this time was kinda interesting, and the question "Who is Ootsuki Miina?" is answered, if you ever needed to ask it. Also, random battles are finally over and a larger story is about to start.

Satsuki Mina gives new meaning to orgasmic mecha fetish There was a very lucky/happy tank barrel this episode.

Escartin finally learns why she should not bunk down in the storage area.

However, with the EVA-ventilation shaft nod, she survives the episode without serious injury

I think she's the girl on the airship in the OP. Ep 9 was another one, answering the question of Ootsuki's identity finally. I though Paparazzi-san's pantsu on the tank was hilarious

Is this really only 11 episodes? We just got to the lady in the intro and we don't know too much about why there are Miinas and how it happened.

some alien wrestler rabbit attacks the stage...he holds Kiryu as hostage and Ootsuki is beaten and her true identity revealed to the public...ouch >.<

the new miina sees her chance and jumps in...and from what i can gather she seems to be an outcast miina who worked for rabbit force but was forced out...

there seems to much to be said in the last ep if it is 11 eps...or there could be a chance for season 2 ~

Interesting. Thanks for the summary, the language was kinda above my level this time.
Last couple of episodes were concentrating on story only, so they were worse than usual.
The plot makes me think the possibility of a second season or an OVA continuation is very high, as a lot of mysteries won't get their answers (Miina's origin, love stories, background characters (especially that super-merchant girl).

I finally realised why this show appeals to me so much. Someone finally remembererd that fanservice works best when it teases the viewer to want to see more, not showing everything at all instances. Every time I watch this, my eyes keep tracking for the mere chance of a slip.

So far none- I'll keep looking.

I've taken a look at the calendar and stumbled upon several BIG surprises.

The seller girl is 27, Lieutenant Colonel and is called Akiyama Mina.
That grade-schooler looking Tamamishi Mina is actually 17 years old!
She's also ranked Major, and thus superior to Shiwasu Mina(17), a Captain.
BTW, Satsuki Mina (17, Papparazi-san) is also a Captain, and thus stands higher than Kannazuki Mina(also 17), a First Lieutenant.
both Ohtsuki and Tsukishiro are lowest-ranked, Warrant Officers and are of the same age - 17. So much for that "Sempai".

They also have five more miinas that can be seen in the ending - but will they really make an appearance with only one more episode left?
And according to the miina's serial numbers, there are several thousands of them in total.

- Mina eats a carrot live on SpoLuna TV and transforms to show her support for Suiren
- Mina rescues Suiren from Sumire
- All Mina's spontaneously transform to rally against Sumire (uncluding Akiyama!)
- Seems Escartin finally gets her big break and reports on the battle
- We finally get to see Ootsuki's transformation - must remember tissues for the nosebleed

They also showed announcement for DVD releases. Don't know exactly what it said, but it did mention some original material. Is it an OVA or just an extra bonus?

Gosh darn, this was a fun series to watch. Too short, too little story, but every episode was just joy in animation. The sort of feeling that Gainax had back in the day, when they put their love for anime into each frame.

If that original material is anything substantial, I will probably cheer my voicebox into oblivion.

the secret is out! everyone knows that mina is also a miina...she goes to save Suiren (who has give up the will to fight and went over to the other side) and we see the other miina's gather up encouraged by mina...but when some new ones started popping up i was left to think "WTF"

and at the end we see Suiren's transformation...which is clearly the best (i loled hard at the zip part )

life goes back to normal but we now know who the heroins are *cheers*

other funny bits is when Escartin got tackled to the ground and the guard rubbing up to her ~ also at the party...why is Escartin wrapped up in bandages again?

Me too, I'm glad they saved up some of the budget for the final battle. It was pretty cool and spectacular...

...to see all the confirmed and uncomfirmed Miina's battling against Sumire's fleet. Ootsuki's transformation was, as expected, the best and cheekiest. Done by an animator who enjoys his job. I love the expressions of the little rabbit zipper

A nice touch was the ending, reprising Mina's earlier scene missing the bus - only now she can eat a carrot with impunity and fly to work. Great stuff.

Overall it's been a really fun and unpretentious series. It shows what Gonzo can do when it's not trying to do anything but entertain. I demand a second series!
