I have one question concerning the drama cds...
How closely do they follow the original script? I mean, if it's only 1 CD per scenerio then =\... or is it multiple CDs per scenerio covering almost all of it voiced (I'm sure minus the tips)? I may buy the Tatarigoroshi CD if it has the interview in it. Krazy K is where it's at, lol |

"Unbelivable"... this word to me just compleatly justifies the OP song...
I have just today started to see Higurashi, and altough I am already on episode 3, it only toke me 1 episode to compleatly fell in love with the OP song.. This rarely happens to me.., most of the times I have to hear the OP or ED a few times in order to learn to like it.., and only then do I fell in love with it..; this one though.., compleatly stunned me at the very first time.. Currently.., I just can't get enough of it Luckly my searching skills are "bringing" the full version into my playlist soon and.. well.., by the looks of it.., it will be playing on back & forth for quite some... long.. long.. hours This is definitly one of the best OP theme Songs that I heard this year, and Ever in fact..; its.. just that great.., and honestly.., it couldn't fit the anime better |

From that picture, I can see the image of Satoko crying into the phone, as well as Hanyuu's outline, so it's going to be on Minagoroshi-hen. My friend in Japan is about to get hit by a silly long shopping list from me for this summer's Comike. |

Well, obviously. -_-;
Kenji_Kawai is a great composer. I just never knew that it was his work that I have been listening to when watching Higurashi. I actually just noticed it when it was playing on winamp, and was surprised, I had to confirm it.

just a tidbit of info. I believe Type-Moon the creators of Fate: S/N game have been big supporters of Higurashi well before the anime. Chie-sensei is a parody of the character Ciel from one of Type-Moon's earlier works.
Chie Rumiko => Chi-e-Ru (cut the rest) => Ci-e-l They're both curry fanatics too ^^ Not that that had any direct relation with composer himself. |

Chie-sensei is clearly a parody of Ciel (or more precisely, Shieru-sensei (知得留先生)), right down to the character design and settings (だがそれは言わない約束). In the Otsukaresama meetings, she even used her black keys and seventh holy scripture. Both Takeuchi Takashi and Nasu Kinoko are fans of Higurashi themselves as well. (notice the Rena vs Rika scene in my sig is actually drawn by Takeuchi-san ^^) As for the OST, Kawai Kenji is certainly an experienced composer. But as a game fan, I still would've preferred to hear the game's unique and memorable tracks instead. |

What perfect timming ^^
I started the series yesterday and "obtained" the OP & ED.., and now today the full OST comes to compleat it Needless to say that Higurashi is all over my playlist now.., and altough I have not played the game.., therefor I do not know any of the "original" tracks as Sushi-Y mencioned..., I belive Kawai Kenji did a extreamly good work on these which compose the OST. Much in the style of Fate/Stay.., I realy was glad that this one followed the same path.., which realy makes it an awsome OST to listen all arround. Funny to see the that Takashi and Nasu are both Higurashi fans |
