My favorite episode this season by far. That's why I didn't mention her. Shame, too since I really liked her character. |

That flying thing that knocked out Gilbert earlier, and was shown again right near the end flying in the hospital shot is a "flying rod" or a "skyfish" (as Zapp said), which was theorized years ago to be an undiscovered creature, which can range from insect sized to as big as logs (obviously the one that hit Gilbert was huge)
They're not seen by the naked eye, only through video or pictures, since they were supposed to be flying too fast for human eyes to see, that's why when Leo was showing his picture of the rod to Zapp he thinks it was just a bug. In real life though, it turns out that those things are really just bugs, and when a camera catches them in flight it makes it look like a thin stick with wings. Those that are log sized are also just regular logs, the footage of that big "flying rod" was from a hurricane with wind speeds fast and powerful enough to make a log fly. I remember this from years ago, and got reminded of those things again by this episode

These single character focus episodes just aren't working for me. Steven's episode was really good but others have all been pretty "meh" for me so far. Is it too much to ask for some meaty plot advancement? And what's worse is that we're getting yet another one next week.
The Daniel Craig/007 joke was pretty funny though.

Well that was odd. Towards the end of the episode, I was really convinced that this was yet another boring insignificant standalone episode (and one even worse than I expected) but the episode ended and the token antagonist is still there. So what gives? Is this actually just a lousy set up to something larger or am I going to be massively pissed off next week?
