I guess that just leaves Dolphin-sensei. As for Boruto, I think Naruto must have made a bit of time to train him, but he's just not around whenever his son wants him, or for every important event like birthdays/football games. Children's hearts can be fragile when it comes to their parents.

It was only after stealing the secret scroll and learning kage bunshin all by himself that he started not to suck. So I guess his first teacher was himself. Iruka was more of a mentor/father figure, he never taught him much ninjutsu, at least not any more than he did to the rest of his students. I don't know about fillers though.

^Iruka was his big brother figure.
I like the fresh feeling of this series. For me personally Pain arc felt like a proper ending, but sadly, it kept going and got really stale. A few things stood out in a good way during the war but it got out of hand and then it jumped the Kagura shark (I am talking about the manga, the anime is another can of worms). Hopefully Boruto fixes a lot of the stuff Naruto failed at... hopefully and please no endless fillers.

Ep 3: Shuriken practise and collective punishment somewhat threw out any notice of good or safe teaching practice for the sake of the story. Stone face getting destroyed again and Shims jr grovelling at the end were a bit over the top.
On the plus side the fight was exciting and thoughtful, Shikamaru and son's discourses were very good indeed. And Temari was amazing, both showing kindness by bringing hubby a beer, and showing her formidable temper too. And of course the guys are too lazy to make their own dinner. I really hope Temari might still be working as a ninja (as I think Sakura and Ino are, Hinata isn't) but looking after those two may be full time work. Gameboy skit at the end was funny, series so far so good. Isn't strange black chaka a bit like a magical girl series plot device? |

Damn, we didn't learn anything about Metal's mother. I was hoping there'd be a scene showing him at home like Shikadai (good scene by the way).
I was glad Boruto questioned his mother about the byakugan. He should have already seen his sister awaken hers (the day Naruto became hokage omake) so it stands to reason his would awaken one day too. Although as speculated earlier, his eye could be more than a regular byakugan.

Well, we indeed didn't get see Metals mother, but seeing him how masterly he throw shurikens one would assume she is some kind of weapon specialist. I really wonder who it could be...
Incho is really much better in socialising tjsn Hinata was. I guess she already got used to have Boruto around. Next time Sarada enters.

She is more an ordinary girl in a class of people who aren't ordinary. It would make sense that she becomes flustered as she tries to keep up. Hinata meanwhile was an abused child on top of being really kind and shy which gave her great social anxiety. It's like comparing apples and onions.

Everyone in class are ordinary. They have families and face everyday trouble. This is world where biggest problems young ninjas have are stage fright and low credit in academics. You can say Boruto the animation = mundane Naruto.
But you are right, I am starting think Metal makes much better Hinata 2.0 than Incho.

I'm really liking this series, Boruto and his group are fun and have chemistry. Watching the series you can get a better understanding of Boruto's point of view on his dad, even his sister and Hinata look disappointed every now and than but I think a lot of us understand Naruto's point of view too. Man that jobs tough, can't believe any one would want that thing Stay tuning

I have a slight degree of confidence that Boruto the manga/anime is trying to be different from Naruto the manga/anime just like how Boruto as protagonist is trying to do the same. My bet is that if the class rep turns out to be like Hinata then I don't think she'll win/end up with him because we have a different author and I bet he wants to distinguish his own work from Kishi's.

Poor Shino he used to look cool as a kid even if nothing significant happened with him. Now he is a comedic teacher. Plus he is single compared to his peers.
Boruto's Byakugan is passive it seems but activates when there is abnormal chakra. Checks his little sister's eyes as she can activate her Byakugan. He asks Hinata about what Byakugan can do as he has been seeing weird stuff. As for Metal he is stage shy compared to Rock. |

In the ED when they show the old characters there is a pretty obvious pattern and when you see Rock Lee's face it's made obvious as to who Metals mother is... apart from, you know, he looks like her and having Metal as a name being the most obvious clues.

Boruto trying to be different is pretty much obvious, but I really doubt it will be contrariant just for it's own sake. Especially when it come to relationships it could backfire badly. If Author-san have Boruto pair with Sarada or whatever fem. Choji it should make sense narratively before some half backed meta.

So does anybody have any detail on how the anime is being made? Do they receive any input from Kishimoto or are they following the new manga writer's lead and adding crap tons of fillers until the manga actually goes somewhere?
