The paintings were a creative way to provide some lore. What happened in the last painting was really interesting too, with the Elf noticing Laois had been present for the events depicted in the previous paintings. Are the paintings linked, or did he actually time travel? Feels like foreshadowing he'll meet the Elf in present time.
Mimics here are a lot more dangerous than the ones in Frieren...

That mimic concept is really good
It is a crab that looking for chest as "house" coin insect is their parasites which killed them from inside and make the chest full of gold as trap for adventurer. It is really good that they have resurrection magic |

this chapter has been the best so far. It got comedy, sad moments, action, bonding moments and laios wasn't that annoying and was pretty useful in this chapter, even better that karma hit him in the end for being so reckless with food.
so that other party running gag will be found them dead in new ways every chapter? lol. |

Really liked the bonding moments between Marcille and Senshi. They had never really gotten one until now.
Eating a parasite struck me as an absolutely terrible idea, and Laois paid the price for eating it raw (an even worse idea). Let that be a lesson to him.

My first thought seeing the float spell: "cool, they can walk on water"
Then Marcille uses it on the Kraken and I'm like, "holy crap, Magic is broken o__o" No fanfare about it either; it's like an everyday strategy for the party. Also, hilarious how Laios finally paid the price for his curiosity after getting away with it almost every step of the way thus far. Man, you can't just eat everything hahaha Senshi realizing that the dungeon can function without him is also pretty nice. Hopefully this means the hermit can finally leave the dungeon, at some point. |

So your high-level magic can create an explosion similar to a mortar shell, and what about the surface tension created by your water-walking cantrip?
Kraken is about 2000 kg, acceleration of gravity about 10 meters per second, energy required to apply the same upward force would be about 50 grams of TNT per second, so about one hand grenade every 5 seconds. Kinda checks out, actually?

I was starting to think there wouldn't be cooking in this episode but it wouldn't Dungeon Meshi otherwise.
I was under the impression Marcille was quite old based on her comment regarding Chilchuck's age and her being an elf, so not sure how to explain she was in the same grade as Falin. I guess she could have just started magical school really late and posed as a younger girl. Or maybe she really is that young. The whole Undine fight was well animated, and there was some real tension.

no wonder marcille cared so much about falin.
they can't catch a break with laios food poison and now marcille badly hurt, but it feels realistic to face so much hardships in the dungeon except for laios because that was an idiot move and karma hit him. |
