Then again, J and Road to 2002 failed to properly adapt World Youth and Road, respectively. Man, the Meiwa vs Furano was really good animated considering it was only one episode. I liked they focused more on Hyuga and Matsuyama's wounds unlike in previous animes that reduced the violence. Also, I remember in the J anime, Furano's coach even died during the match. Man, I didn't remember Misugi's condition getting so bad in old series. Also, I remember in the 80s anime, Wakabayashi was so angry at Tsubasa that he kicked him in the stomach with a ball. In Captain Tsubasa J the one who actually hit him was Misugi who instead slaps him. Wonder what happened in the manga.

Season 2 already premiered in Japan. There are many new characters in every new arc more or less (or the side ones directly become more important). The new opening is sick while the ending is another remake of "Moete Hero" with the cast updated.

Yes to new op and ed visuals!!! It looks like they've grown up accordingly. Tsubasa et al look a bit more mature, now being in their 3rd year of middle school. Also good to see new characters in this episode. I hope GK Morisaki will do well since Nankatsu is missing Wakabayashi
