^Movie 12th is released?
I don't watch the series but I am a big fan of the manga and the movies. I also watched all the live action adaptations XD. I only read the manga case by case basis. I don't like the suspense that I have to wait for another week to see who is the culprit lol. |

Movie #12 is pretty awesome, not gonna spoil anything here.
As for how long Conan will be, the manga writer himself said about half a year ago that he has the perfect ending for the series. How long the series will do entirely depends on the producer of the show. (If they're making money, no reason to stop) Plus i donno what i'd do if conan stopped xD. Conan movie ending songs are really awesome, real places that matches animated scenes.

The only thing about movie 12 I liked was the classical music. The plot doesn't make sense WHATSOEVER. It is incredibly unrealistic and anti-climatic. Even more than usual. Detective Conan has always had its fantasy moments, but the clues and the conclusion always makes some sense, which is why I watch this series, but in this movie it sadly doesn't make any. You won't enjoy it if you put too much brain power into it.
The beautiful music made up for it a bit, though.

Much as I like the simple title 'Detective Conan', changing it to 'Case Closed' is in a way, a more inclusive description of the show, because it's not just Conan (that's only an alias) or his mind as Jimmy Kudo, but also all his friends and the mistakes of villains and heroes met along the way who help to close multiple cases.

Actually, last year (I can't post the link for the article transcript since it's hosted on a DC-related scanlation site) Gosho Aoyama stated that he had already written the series' conclusion, but he was still nowhere near implementing it. So, well, we might actually be closer to the end that we might think but DC still has a few long years ahead of itself. Who knows, maybe Gosho will try to break a couple records before actually calling it quits...

As of conan's ending, I am sure the author had it in mind. However, he probably will never implement it considering the status of conan in Japan. The status of conan in Japan nowadays is similar to Doraemon back in the 80s (being the ambassador/ face of japanese manga). Doraemon never has an official ending. Though after the author passed away, many sources claim that the author somehow write the ending (the infamous autism ending). I believe conan will end in more or less the same way. |
