I've never been a huge fan of I-No mostly because she's the only Arc Systems boss I considee truly cheap as opposed to just really challenging. I wouldnt mInd her being brought back in her playable character form but I wouldnt shed a tear if I never had to see that boss form with its in match healing and jacked damage factor

Rather than new characters, I wonder if we would get the special beat em up game mode from accent core ?

It's not semantics. The approach for this game is completely different from KOFXII/Blazblue. For starters, one is sprites, another is polygons.

One of the two can do this.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

For the other it's impossible.

But the overall point is right, it will be mirrored.

I have my doubts it would be that difficult to include them all at the start though. I mean first of all they're now using 3D models which are much quicker and easier to work with, and second; move-set coding (aside from balancing changes and new moves) can be recycled from the previous games with some small required editing, which cuts back on a lot of time.
Of course they'll all get in eventually, ArcSys will probably release 3 revisions for this over the next 5 years.

And time is money, even though this approach is much easier than typical, you can't just churn them out with the click of a finger. I wouldn't be surprised if the arcade to console release mirrored SFIV in amount of characters. (14-16 characters with another 4-6 for console release)

I'm hoping they do make the roster. Some of the more interesting characters in the franchise, IMO. Dr. Paradigm and Sin are awesome.

Image didn't load properly, I'm afraid. What is the approach for this game then? Are the characters simply sprites? Where's the source for this?

They're cel-shaded 3D models with frame skipping to "emulate" sprite animations

It's not really "frame skipping", it's more like they're only using keyframes (no tweens).

Which means that they're not actual sprites like I've said all along. It doesn't matter anyways. This subject matter is frivolous for this thread.

This method of animation has limitations though.
For example, you're stuck with a character model and can't really animate unique animations (Think of Faust and Robo Ky) just as easily as sprites.

Nice. I really hope this game will have old and new characters tracks, and not rehashed "lazy" OCS mixes like what we hear in Blazblue Chrono Phantasma.

Alternatively we could get remixes like those in the Korean ost.

For all you Guilty Gear fans hyped for this game, I'm afraid we're going to have to play the waiting game for awhile.

Hmmmm I wonder how many characters will be playable at this loketest.

Perhaps it's only Sol and Ky.

If I were to guess...

Sol, Ky, Eddie, Millia, Dizzy, Jam?

Perhaps. It would be kind of weird if there was only 2.

4 or 6 seems a likely amount.
