What, really?
Right, because I watched this series long time ago that back then there are no such thing as Anime-Original and Anime-Filler existed in my head, I think I was around age of 7 to 9 back then.

Well, hard to say. They used a variant of the anime ending and someone noted that apparently all the anime-original cards, including Sakura's own card, exist, so I'd say there's a fair chance. Though she might not play a huge role. I recall she played a lesser role later in the original series too, coming back briefly to hear Syaoran break off their engagement and then staying in Hong Kong.

Well, there's that possibility too. For example, in the Manga, Syaoran has been pretty much on the sidelines.
There could be a chance for her to make a cameo, as a confidant, from time to time.

Episode 2:

Neat episode.

I love how this show still retains the light comedy despite some of the mysterious circumstances going on and feels like the original season. Seeing Sakura return with a colorful outfit for this season also gave me a big smile. Tomoyo's personality also showed a lot this week.

I think pacing is starting to pick up a bit more now with the latest sealed card. Still really curious to see how they will plan out the remaining episodes.

Where's Meilin? Does she exist? Looks like the producers had thought of what people would be asking early in this new series. And, like in the later portion of the first series, I imagine she'll show up at some point but not all that long.

I really don't get why Cerberus keeps pretending in front of Touya. Sakura established in the first series, back when Yue was fading, that he already KNEW about all of it, including the "plushy". Did he just forget that the guy knows, or does he actually think that keeping up the act might make him doubt what he knows to be true?

loved seeing the Touya x Sakura sibling teasing again. what a sis-con.

ep2 also reminded me a bunch of little details from the first series that I just forgot about it like how Sakura enjoys baking (and uses her own allowance to do it)

Right after Touya gave his power to Yue, Sakura went home and said to Kero that he knew about what she'd been doing and about Yue AND Kero.

I noticed just now that the cards are turning into a different set, not like when the original Clow Cards -> Sakura Cards.
It's kinda a shame, I really the original illustrations of the cards

Meiling and the butler did get mentioned in ep 2, so the anime really is following the original anime, not the manga, which is not bad IMO

for a moment there I thought I was watching Shokugeki no Sakura

and my oh my, Yukito is staying over ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), #nothingdirtyIswear

Last but not least...Syaoran hasn't done anything yet

Not sure why Kero is still pretending to be a plushy either. I'd actually like to see him interact with Touya. Maybe it will happen later.

Figured Eriol wasn't replying because he already knows what's going on and is waiting for the right time.

I'm really fucking slow but I realized only now that the first card Sakura got is a wind card once again. No relations between the second cards though (I think it was the Shadow in the first season?).

And, yeah, I thought Touya revealed that he knew but then didn't he supposedly "lost" this memory when he gave his power to Yue? ....no wait, he lost his power of sight but did that also include some memory as well?

...and I'm hoping Syaoran will be more involved than how he is right now.

No, you're right. The new cards aren't replacing the Sakura cards. She has two different decks now.

Finally got around to watching the second episode. A lot of funny moments (Tomoyo still has her priorities straight

), but glad it wasn't just me that felt the "Kero as plushy gag" felt off. If Sakura's father was around, then yeah Kero should lay low (since the anime cut a certain detail), but it felt a bit like a reset to the old status quo (I forget if Touya got his magic back? Since Sakura should be more powerful and he seems less sluggish, but forget if there was an answer one way or another).

Glad that Meiling and even Wei were referenced, maybe they can make a cameo later. And Eriol had better have a good reason for holding back on the answers. For once seems like it isn't him (or Clow) doing this. Even the new card name seems a bit ominous compared to the normal card naming scheme.

Going back to cheerleading, I wonder if she will get whacked on the head many times again. They taught us how to make a cheesecake in this episode, loved the reaction from Kero when he ate some. I'm not sure why Kero still pretends to be a doll around Touya, he already knows about the magic & Yue ect. I did a google image search for Okonomiyake, it looks amazing, no wonder Kero had that reaction. Yes that is a very nice outfit, and all of a sudden they are trapped. Glad Kero realized what it was, Tomoyo gets to help out this time. Siege = Surrounding of a place, cutting them off from the outside world. There's that mysterious being again, and something that kinda looks like a dragon of sorts. Nice, leave it to Kero is back.
