As for the blade-loli's backstory, by her logic, her justice is that what her princess says is law and she carries it out accordingly because she's strong enough to do so (might makes right), without caring who or what is in the way. That's fine, but if we get to a point where they try and make me feel pity because someone else tries to off her or one of the people who got maimed/possess defend her, I'm going to be pissed.

Love the fight scenes, and of course Touko as well. I'm a bit worried that Touko seems to be marked for death (since the tattoo doesn't seem to impart her powers), but at least Seigi is deadset on protecting her. If nothing else, it looks like the author would give the trope some justice, whatever happens to the plot. XD
Now for the plot... three quarters of a house vanishing into thin air and no one bats an eye? Sure, I guess they can handwave that because they're US military that quickly covered up that private property, but what about the frigging school? There's a frigging hole in the ground and all windows are shattered, and life goes on as usual? Yeah, I can't take the plot seriously AT ALL. :shakes head: So after three episodes, I guess the series is just ok? I mean, I love the art direction and the fighting choreography is awesome to watch, but I feel that's the full extent of the merits of the show. Sure I'm not dropping it, but that's only because Touko is still in the fray.

mm, the episode was confusing in different ways, the fights are good but I'd prefer they stopped the camera and the mood-whiplash was heavy but I kinda still liked it. And the plot is getting bigger with each passing episode. As the number of characters involved. but it was fun. I'll keep watching. The cat surely was fun but also having a capybara in the tub did the job too
Given the confusion I have missed the how, why and what of Touko's tattoo, but it doesn't really matter, does it? As much as if the loli is a loli or is not a loli ... About Izzy house I was expecting to see it restored already the day after and I just realised how convenient is to have chalks as trigger being into a high school settings ... Or blood when each fight grants lot of it

I'm wondering who else thought cat curry when they saw the pot of curry being cooked?
I've finally got around to watching this series, and although some scenes are a little over the top and exaggerated, the series shows quite a bit of potential. There definitely seems to be some political plot-lines behind the scenes, and it's not all kill everyone all the time. I'm curious to see where this will head towards.

Yeah, but the way the Nasuverse uses that excuse, you wouldn't be able to throw a rock in Fuyuki without hitting a leaky gas tank/line (and setting off an "explosion" that leaves behind mysterious damage that doesn't look at all like it came from an explosion).

Another episode full of action, and we will have more action next episode.
If this show can deliver something that's fighting if nothing else. I also liked how they portraited bad guys, they are kind of cool. And they also showed that good guys can make mistakes as well. And this show is again playing with me, when the episode ended I had a feel like 40 minutes have passed, not 20. Staying tuned for next week, next fight looks like it's going to be interesting. |

You know, I can see what they meant by the comedy moments being out of place. I don't want to see childhood friend #1 getting groped by the rabbit-girl while the other loli is bisecting people left and right. And... Seigi is kind of annoying.
It feels like they're trying to mesh two different genres together that don't.

Taboo-Tattoo. First Thoughts
Already seen the first two episodes, and I'm not impressed on what this show has to deliver.
Everything's pretty much clichéd, and the non-linearity feels odd and off most of the time when jumping from one scene to another, breaking suspense and tension unnecessarily. I'm an anime-only watcher, and I do not know anything on the manga or light novel this show was adapted from. But, this show depicting the Americans, specifically a division stemming from the American Military as sort of the people that try to preserve the world's power balance as sort of the good guys based on first impressions feels out of place, if not laughable to me. I'm commenting this given at how much anime I've seen usually depicting on a negative light the Americans, as the one who always make things worse or, pretty, useless in the world of anime; those are my POV comments. Anyways, I get this show is focusing on martial arts, enhanced by the powers of the tattoos that confer to their respective users, so I'm not having my expectations spiking-up, but I'll be enjoying the WTF moments when it comes to Izzy and Seigi and Touko. Another drawback that I may add against this show is the overuse of dark colors to animate the atmosphere and settings makes this show giving off a dull and boring texture. Even animating in red the fight scenes felt strange to me that I didn't know what exactly was going on screen. |
