Nope.
Worse even, at the end of March (right before the new fiscal year, which begins on April 1st in Japan, so this is not an April's Fool hoax), it was announced that Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi were chosen to helm the new Godzilla movie, which is expected to make landfall in 2016, so...don't be surprised if Anno delays the final RoE movie so that he may co-direct Godzilla without any distraction. Yes, you may start raging now.

... what the heck did I just watched?
I finally got bored and I don't have anything much to do at work so I watched it while passing time and... well its a waste of time. The plot comes out of no where. 14 years into the future but it doesn't feel much at all. The technology sure boooooooooooost a lot in that time frame. They made that bigarse human/bird/eva ship. lots of questions answered but gives lots of question unanswered. I pushed the forward button a lot during the middle section with lots of yaoi bait and kick the bitch/girly shinji. Its getting tediously boring. The near end part doesn't also help because everyone is ganging up on shinji, except for kowaru but they are both gay to each other..... ugh.... I liked the second rebuild but I can't liked this third part. Fangasm for the animation but aside from that? storywise. Its bad.

Really I'm just wondering when we're gonna get some more concrete info on the final installment. I mean seriously, as it stands we've basically got:
One movie that's basically six TV-episodes stitched together, One movie that takes the middle portion of the TV-series as an outline and then writes its own story loosely based on it, coming to essentially the same conclusion that the show did but a lot sooner, and half a movie where Shinji learns that he basically ruined everything for everyone, but which ends before he even gets a chance to come to grips with it... also where it seems an entire movie's worth of plot-developments have happened off-screen in between this and the last installment. Like seriously, at this point I find it hard to imagine the final movie actually being any good considering the tremendous canyon of issues left in the wake of 3.33, but... at least give us an ending to this reboot while we're still young, will you?! It's been nearly four years since this thing hit theaters and what do we have for the final movie so far? Half a title. How impressive.

I've been letting this one rot on the drive but like I had posted. I don't have anything to do and I thought I won't lose anything because of the track record form 1 and 2 but then again... I delayed this one because of the bad reviews.... then I watched it and I felt that I wasted my time. Like seriously. Its like the characters just become something different. My first reaction to Misato is... is that misato?

I can echo the disappointment with this film. Kaworu isn't a very interesting character here so when the film is focused on him and Shinji I felt pretty detached. They introduced a bunch of changes and new characters/developments but don't focus on any of it so it's hard to care about the dire situation or people the film wants you to care about.

So this just popped up on Utada Hikaru's youtube channel. It's a videoclip for Sakura Nagashi using images from the movie but is it just me or are there scenes in there I don't recall from the film?

Good lord, you are right. There are some really interesting scenes. Maybe they were cut from the movie. I'm glad you posted this because I was just thinking about 3.XX and was planning on watching it again properly this time (bluray and in surround sound). God, I love that song.

Anno apparently relapses into depression every now and then and apparently 3.0 triggered another one of his...episodes, hence why (according to himself) he decided to do the Shin Godzilla movie rather than jump straight into 3.0+1.0.
