Although Minerva always had back up from other ships on "official" Zaft missions. The only time they were on their own were when EA fleets would ambush them in transit. |

I'm not sure about that Aquaman. Wasn't the Minerva supposed to carry all of the second stage gundams meaning Impulse, Savior, Gaia, Chaos, and Abyss? Plus Rey and Luna's Zaku's and the previously mentioned Guaiz R's.
Now if I'm counting that right, that's a total of 9 MS. Meaning the Minerva never came close to carrying a full complement of MS. The closest it got is when Athrun, Shin, Heine, Luna and Rey where aboard. And that's still 4 shy of it's supposed max |

Archangel's planned complement? 5 GAT-X unit, 2 Moebius, and 1 Moebius Zero. Plus unknown number of Mistral

Yeah and if that admiral who supported the GAT project hadn't died combined with Azreals control over EA hadn't happened. The Archangel would've likely gotten 3 or so daggers to replace the moebius'. One if which would've been had a gunbarrel pack for Mu.

There were only 2 Skygrasper's. The one that Neo used was the same one Mwu originally had it Seed, which they just kept around since then. I'm not sure if it was on AA the whole time or they kept it at their underground base in Orb, but since we see AA only has Freedom, Rouge, and one Murasame aboard when leaving in 14, and the Skygrasper is on an outside landing platform when given to Neo, I'm guessing they just left it at their base.
Mwu and his wingmen were never supposed to be aboard AA though, and his Zero and the two Mobius's were part of the ship that transported the pilots there, and he only joined up as an emergency (though AA was equipped to support fighter craft as well). The 5 GAT-X units were its only planned MS compliment originally. Obviously it didn't go as planned. As for Minerva, it was supposed to hold Impulse, Chaos, Gaia, Abyss, Rey and Luna's units at least. The two Guaiz's might have just loaded on as an emergency, like Athrun's Zaku did or maybe not, it was weird as they just showed up in one scene only to get blown up and weren't shown otherwise. Impulse has it's own special little hanger. And since Minerva wasn't liked by the rest of Zaft initially they probably didn't want to give it more favortisim that it already had despite them losing 3 prototypes when it still had the two special Gundam's and 2 top of the line grunts, and two faith members on board. Or at least that was the excuse, as inactuality Durandal wanted them deliberately understaffed so they'd have to fight harder and grow more skilled like AA had to in the first war, AND he probably realized a few Gundam's were all it really needed since grunts are basically worthless in CE. |

Three?
They only got two from the Admiral. And one was destroyed when Tolle was killed leaving only the one Mu piloted. So the one we saw in Destiny was simply the one Mu piloted in Seed. @aquaman Why would Mu and his companion only be escort for the gundam pilots? Why wouldn't the "Hawk of Endymion" be transferred to the archangel when the whole crew was meant to be Atlantic federation elites. Just because he provided cover for the ship doesn't mean that was his only reason for being there. |

Though I don't deny it wouldn't make sense to have Mu's veteran presence with the rookies piloting the GAT series. |

Mwu was supposed to help in training the pilots, but he wasn't to join the crew. The ship wasn't supposed to go anywhere anytime soon. Again they rush transported the Gundam's to the AA and then launched the ship in response to the attack. otherwise they would have stayed at Heliopolis for awhile.

I suppose... It just seems odd that Mu wouldn't be transferred to the Archangel much less made the pilot of the Strike or Aegis for example. They could have just added the gunbarrel striker later or something.

The EA adding one of their few, and most skilled, Moebius Zero pilots to an untested machine is unlikely as hell. They know Mu's talents are best suited for the Moebius Zero at that point in the war. It's rare to have a mobile armor pilot that can successfully take on a mobile suit and come out on top... and it's dangerous to put said pilot in an untested, incomplete machine.

It was basically the Final Plus opening, Remasterfied (so adding in unit and pilot names for whatever stupid reason they think its clever) and with the final animation of the Gundam's fighting slightly redone.
I guess nobody liked Wings of Words in Japan too. Or they want to pimp Vestige more. I don't think they'll cut it from SF's debut though. They did in the Special Edition because it would also play when Kira rescued Cagalli, which in the special edition happened 10 minutes later, as opposed to 3 episodes later, so they didn't want it playing practically back to back and make it look even more obviously commerical that it already was. |
