Sneak peek August Newtype/Animedia/Animage, DVD 7 cover
This month's Newtype doesn't have too much 00 material, but there's an interview with Mizushima about movie and Special Edition (compilation movie), as well as an illustration of Soran with Gundam Exia.

水島：スペシャルエディションは3本出ます。ファーストシーズンで1本、セカンドシーズンで2 本。
黒田（洋介）くんが構成をまとめて、シリーズを支えてくれた3人の助監督がそれぞれ実作業を担 当します。
1本目が長崎（健司）、2本目が角田（一樹）、3本目が未定です。
現在は1本目の作業中です。各巻90分程度の予定ですが、エピソードを大幅に絞ったりはせず、
できるだけ万遍なくフォローした、いかにも総集編らしい内容になります。

――スペシャルエディションと聞けば、気になるのはまず新作カットの有無。

水島：スペシャルエディションはTVシリーズをわかりやすくコンパクトにまとめ、入門編とすることが主眼な ので、
基本はシリーズと同じ内容です。新たなナレーションも必要最低限にとどめて、TVと印象があまり違わないよ うな作りになっています。
ただ、短くまとめる以上、そのままではいけないので、そこは必然的に新作にする必要が出てくる。それならば ……とアレハンドロとリボンズの場面に、
2人の間柄を想像させるシーンを入れたり。そのほか、ファーストシーズン第6話のデュナメスのフルシールド の戦闘は、期待に応えて完全新作です。

In Alejandro and Ribbons' scene, things such as a scene where the two people's relationship can be imagined will be shown.
In addition, the Dynames' Full Shield in the first season's 6th episode battle is a completely new work as a response to [the audience's?] expectation.

――スペシャルエディションは2009年10月からリリースされ、2010年2月に完結。そうなるとやはり 気になるのは、その先に待っている劇場版。現在の進捗状況はどうなっているのだろうか。

水島：劇場版は黒田くんが脚本を鋭意執筆中です。舞台はTVシリーズ終了後から数年後。晩秋に絵コンテin できるかなと僕自身は予想しています。それに合わせて、デザイン関係の打ち合わせも進んでいま す。

――デザインと聞いて知りたいポイントは2つ。刹那をはじめとするガンダムマイスターが数年の間にどう変わ っているのか。
もうひとつはどんなガンダムが登場するかどうかだが……。

水島：キャラクターについては高河（ゆん）さんと千葉（道徳）くん、それに黒田くんを交えて、6時間以上の 長い打ち合わせをしました。
2人とも、また新たにキャラクターをデザインするのが楽しそうでした。メカについても、主役機の打ち合わせ をしました。
舞台となる年代に至るソレスタルビーイングの状況と、求められる新鮮味をどう組み合わせたデザインにするか 、考えています。

Both of them (Kouga and Chiba) seemed to enjoy designing newly the characters.

Things that I can get from that + other 2ch comments:
There will be three volumes of the Special Edition, each about 90 minutes in duration.
Volume I, release date 27/10/09, assistant director Nagasaki, will cover 1st Season
Volume II, release date 22/12/09, assistant director Tsunoda, will cover 2nd Season
Volume III, release date 23/02/10, assistant director undecided, will cover 2nd Season
Mizushima is currently working on Volume II.
Director's cut will include a scene of Alejandro & Ribbons and a combat scene of Dynames Full Shield. Narration is kept to the minimum. (I'm not sure about this one, real translators, help!)
Kuroda is zealously writing the scenario for the movie.
Movie will take place several years after the series
Kouga and Chiba had a long (6 hours) meeting with Kuroda to discuss the movie character design.

There is an interview with the voice actors at the beginning.

There is some talk about Trans-am and Veda.

Tieria: "Is the condition of the scar on your shoulder the same?"
Setsuna: "It hurts a little, but it doesn't hinder me in battle."

Allelujah's voice: "Marie! Marie, answer me!"
She hasn't left her room in five days.

Feldt: "You've been patient in the Ptolemy, Sumeragi-san.
You were steady (harsh?) during the break pillar incident."
Feldt, Setsuna, and Tieria have a conversation.
Sumeragi doesn't have much of a family anymore, only one distant relative.
Tieria and Setsuna go in search of Sumeragi's relative.
There is more about Sumeragi's family possibly being harmed, and being placed with Katharon.

Lyle and Anew have a conversation.
Anew: "I can feel Lyle's gaze on me."
Another scene with Lyle and Anew where Anew is not feeling well(?)

Tieria: "Setsuna you were (hurt) in that battle, but that scar on your shoulder, someone must have..."
Setsuna tells him of the meeting with Ribbons and 0 Gundam, and the "cancer gun". I think the cancer gun is actually in reference to the 0 raiser, and not Ali's gun.
"Tieria, you knew about Ribbons?"
Tieria and Setsuna have a conversation.

Allelujah: "Marie to have trained with GN-Archer? How could this..."
Lyle: "Don't say anything. Let her do it." (My translation of this sentence is really sloppy).

Hallelujah: "Well, good... Isn't this great?"
Hallelujah may be saying something about being stuck with the idiot Allelujah. He (Hallelujah) refers to Marie as "my beloved Marie-chan".
Allelujah: "I'm starting to hallucinate..." (the word used is for auditory hallucination, so it's implied that he's hearing things or Hallelujah's voice).

A scene with Saji in the morning, whose existence has been forgotten by the rest of the Ptolemy.
The girl Saji likes is now fighting and has become the enemy. Allelujah relates to Saji's feelings, in a similar position with Soma. (or it may be Saji relating to Allelujah).
There is an argument between Soma and Saji about fighting which I can't really decipher.

Then there is a scene with Sumeragi and Lasse where she mentions Emilio as her lover. I also can't make much of it.

Mileina: "Death on anyone who steals Erde-san's heart (desu!)."
Alternative translation by mike_s_6: Mileina: "In Mileina's heart, a person (not Erde-san) has been decided desu!"
The poster comments that Mileina is a 'jijicon' (= likes much older men), she has a crush on a 70-year old movie star.

There's a party on the Ptolemy.
Sumeragi tries not to drink alcohol (my notes: This has been mentioned before on director's notes in DVD 3, I think).
Allelujah: "It's so nice being here~"
Peries only attends so that the "tactical forecaster can put her in the GN-Archer. (I've taken liberty with the sentence here.)
Allelujah feels clumsy? He'd like things to be nice like this for a little while longer.

Feldt: "Setsuna, won't you drink alcohol?"
Setsuna: "I never drank to begin with."
Setsuna's shoulder starts aching then, and he remembers the dream he had of Lockon.

Mileina, Tieria, Setsuna, and something about the party. I fail here.

Lyle is fascinated by Anew's eyes, and he notices they flash gold frequently.
Lyle: "It can't be... No way..."
Ribbons: "The fight of Celestial Being continues."

And it ends here.

The lack of any good 00 movie news, really...REALLY makes me angry.

I know we got a ways to go before 2010, but come on....give us something to hold on to. The 5 new GN Drives ain't enough. Foreshadow what type Gundams we'll get. All 5 brand new single drives? A new 00? TWO 00 Gundams?

IIRC, He just said he won't abolish CB since threats can appear whenever. It connects to Saji's talk about CB always being there just in case.

I'm open for the possibility of new Gundams. But I doubt it's going to be in larger numbers.

IIRC, He just said he won't abolish CB since threats can appear whenever. It connects to Saji's talk about CB always being there just in case.

I wonder if there were multiple Celestial being satellites with Twin drives installed and they all initiated a Trans am burst together would all of humanity start to innovate?

the only reason for celestial being to expand it's personnel and hardware is if the earth federation starts to stray from it's ideals.

How about the appearance of other innovators who are exploited much the same way newtypes were during the one year war

It's not like they don't have HQ in space...

Uh, I don't think they do have a HQ. The one at L3 was destroyed, and that's where they developed most of the Gundams I think. Plus the CB colony ship is under inspection and watch by the ESF, so they can't use that.

They should have. It's not like they can't make another one, or don't have another place in case the one in L3 got destroyed. They did developed those last episode upgrades from somewhere.

But then, time has passed, upgrades got made and delivered. I don't think they could pull it without having some sort of place to make or finish developing them.
