Guess why the DGTO wants entertainment banned, since the end of the galactic war. They have established themselves as absolute dictators of the galaxy and controls all FTL tech. The problem is the Kiarara provide the people with the possibility to move independently on their own. The DGTO, being a corporate entity above all else does not want that and thus the entertainment bans were made, to explicitly prevent idols from springing up and destroying their hold on the monopoly.
The AEPS probably has limited access to the Kiarara technology.

The banning of idols actually make more sense if they're capitalizing on the power of the Kirara while the government can't
But couldn't they just use their own idols to make the same power? Or maybe there would be a twist of former centers now leading the government forces lol lawd....honestly i still can't believe this storyline....lolol anyway~ I see scissor trying to cut Orine doll. And the person holding it seem like a guy? stalker or maybe fan of another AKB0048 girl that want to eliminate Orine due to rivalry? fun ep next ~

Well, you can't just "make" idols in this world. You kind of have to be born with "it", and most likely, the government wouldn't know what "it" is. So yeah, I'm pretty certain that AKB are the only ones who can use that wormhole. Everyone else seems to have their own FTL technology, but the Kirara jump is something beyond that. Think Mass Effect: FTL drives and Mass relays. Both are used for travel, but on a way different level. And even if they did have their own wormhole, I'm pretty sure they still wouldn't know what coordinated AKB used.

I believe the Kirara tech only can be used by AKV and that probably ticks the goverment. If you look in this way, Kirara only get attracted to singing young girls, not some not some grumpy old dude. Just wondering, will kirara work well with things like Detroit Metal City.
Is it me or the opening shows that Chieri knows how to play the piano. |

Considering that Akibastar suffered from war at least in the past I don't think they don't know how to reach it. Maybe like someone commented, the situation could be similar to matrix in a way. DGTO/DES may need the AKB0048 to exist to nurture idols that have the idol aura that seems related with the power the kirara gets (the one that was with Chieri used to Shine but then stopped, so it may indicated they need to be near idols / people with strong idol aura or they run out of it). So while they could be able to crush Akibastar they don't do it and keep the war against them as a farce so more idols would be trained. Then from time to time they would capture/kidnap those with the highest idol aura, the centers.

From the beginning Aitakatta to Iiwake, Everyday Kachuusha, even Manatsu no sounds good now, Acchan has always have her bike Quote:
But then those idols being train by DES wouldn't be able to utilize Kirara's full power since they're not singing because they want to but because they're being forced to. LOL....all these mysteries for an idol anime. I'm for the theory that the government is behind the missing centers. It would be more interesting than the idea that the girl just up and leave for no reason.

Remember folks, we still have very little concrete historical information about this universe. Don't spend too much time building up theories based on other theories, because you could end up completely and utterly on the wrong track, if it turns out the first theory you based everything on is wrong. |

I'm sure this question's been asked before, but... how exactly are there 77 generations of AKB 0048 members? The series synopsis says that this series takes place in the 22nd century, so has AKB been around since the time of Jesus Christ or something? >_>

It's a bit confusing, but it doesn't refer to literal parents-and-children generations. They're more of "seasons" in which AKB recruits new members, and members who were recruited in the same season become part of the same "generation". You'll notice that Kanata and Mimori are 75th generation while Nagisa and the gang are 77th generation. However, Kanata and Mimori have only been around a year longer. This implies that there are two recruiting periods per year, thus two "generations" per year. If I recall correctly, the real-life AKB is up to generation 13 or so. It's possible that AKB0048 has continued the numbering scheme instead of starting over from 1, so the first generation recruited to AKB0048 might have been generation 30 for all we know.

I have to wonder what happened to generations like the 76th? 75th was cursed because everyone except Kanata and Mimori gave up, and those two haven't graduated. That implies that the 76th did better, yet where are they? None of them became successors: the group that visited Lancaster still seems to be all there is of AKB0048's active members. Is it possible to somehow graduate from being a trainee yet not become a successor? |

Woooow I can't believe I remembered that wrong. Brain must be going.
Who knows what happened to 76? Maybe none even passed the initial auditions. 75 might be "cursed" because a good bunch of girls passed, but nobody managed to get promoted and most of them dropped out (Mimori has a brief flashback in episode 4, where she remembers the other girls from her generation all leaving). But if nobody in 76 was even worth considering, then I guess you'd call it a dud instead of a "cursed generation". Well, that's one possibility.

Well considering this aura can make those girls glows, seems like it can even power up them (it did felt to me like Yuuko got stronger after singing and emitting her aura, getting strong enough to lift the chandelier on ep 3 and save Chieri), and also seems to make kiraras glow who also happen to power up some kind of hyperspace traveling... oh well too many "seems" there. That is a very interesting theory! Quote:
Current year is stellar year 0048. As the AKB48 sung till the end of earth, and first stellar year was after earth ends, then AKB0048 was liked created in less than 48 years ago. If it is two generation per year, then maybe they could have started from 1. But if it's one per year, then the number would only make sense if they continued counting from where the real AKB stopped. EDIT: Quote:

You guys can check it yourselves on: Episode 1, 02:17, there is at least 16 successors dancing on the concert, then there is Mariko inside the ship for at least 17 successors. Episode 3, 14:28, there is at least 14 successors dancing on the concert. Episode 4, 02:53, there is at least 10 successors dancing on the concert.
