Ok I didn't have clue what to expect from 39 but the cover page while not "appealing" in many ways it somehow makes Megumi look absolutely delicious for some reason!

The chapter however was bloody magnificent!

Shokugeki in general reminds me a lot of Yakitate!! Japan (which I loved before it became retarded and boring in the final arc), but that might be because I haven't read a lot of cooking manga.

because he declared in chapter 4 that he will make the students as a "stepping stone" to get to the top? ... well setting that side I'm sure some of the student acknowledge souma skill and see him as a threat and some of them also look down on souma background because he came from unknown restaurant like "yukihira"...

technically... it was that Mozuya lady's fault seeing as consultant boy could've formulated a prevention plan and thus force the battle out beyond the weekend. Once Souma is forced to return to tootsuki, the Sumire district should've been destroyed utterly in that time span or at least be in irreperable state.
