Geez, is it even remotely surprising that Nagisa was capable of taking out Kayano the way he did? See, in the last chapters, there was a lot of dark and edgy drama, then, in the end, everything was solved with a kiss. I understand those who liked it, but I also understand those who gets frustrated, not by lack of fights, but because it was something quick and superficial, the kind you laughed today and forget tomorrow.

And now there are people saying that Nagisa and Kayano had feelings for each other since long time ago. ¬ ¬ Bullshit! That's just Matsui giving a gift to the shippers.

But at the very least, Kayano showed genuine concern for Nagisa, like when he faced off against bully-teacher for the first time. It couldn't have been an act, because we actually saw an internal monologue of her.

However "romantic" development is something completely unrelated and this series actually did use the "serious matters are in the way"-card for almost any romantic development, as shown&stated by Karasuma.

Well, it's a WSJ manga, what else was there to expect? Even Naruto had skipped any development and made couples based on a very small amount of foreshadowing at the very end and Naruto had by far more chapters than Ansatsu.
