And that wraps the story for group D-05...unless Hayate get more than 300+ fake votes...

But thats pretty impossible anyway..

Here's something interesting...

Based on the match-ups, there's a very good chance both Akiko and Kaori may advance. That would set up a Hayate v. Akiko v. Kaori Round 2 match, which would be a virtually guaranteed win for Hayate. Will the Kanon faithful try to deep six either Akiko or Kaori? If so, who? And in who's favor? Haruhi, Yoshinoya, Tsukasa, or Kotono?

Korean Moe Tournament round of 256 day 9 line up

Death enters the taverna.
Passing are coal black horses and sinister people
moving with the soul of the guitar.
And there is the odor of women’s blood blended with salt
amid the spikenards so fev’rish in march land and swamp
Death enters, enters and then the Reaper goes from the taverna

Malaguena( from Cancion de jinete ( Song of the Horseman ) by Federico Garcia Lorca)

1. Will Suiseiseki utterly dominate her group again?
2. group 54 will be very interesting: ( Torch lover vs S&M vs paper lover vs P3D0? )
3. So, will Sayuri and Mai advance together?

Spoiler for round 3 group 49 - 54 match up:

Well hit a tough day with the Korean Tournament. Started that off with 3 straight characters going down. But managed to round it off with three straight characters in to end 3:3 so not all that bad.
Spoiler for Korean Votes:

No surprises today, though Hayate managing to thump Tama-nee was a surprise.

Comments are few today since I'm familiar with only a few characters.

Spoiler for Aug 26th list and some analysis:

Hayate win with a good vote, not bad...i though the Tamaki the final vote will quite near to Hayate >.<"....

For coming up saimoe, D02 i pass..., D10 is a hard pick for me again, Mugi and Yin, pain to decide... but i guess Yin very little people support.

My pick:
D02: None
D06: Misaka Kaori
D10: Yin

No suprises yesterday, though Yue was stronger than I expected. Poor Tama-nee! Not only did she have to fight Nanoha series mojo, but she - much like Feena fam Earthlight - also suffered from the added burden of a very poorly done anime adaptation.

My picks for today:

D- 02 = Matsuoka Miu @ Ichigo Mashimaro
Mischevious imp
Wants Nobue's attention
Lonely rabbits die

D-06 = Misaka Kaori @ Kanon
Let love conquer fear
Short time left to thaw your heart
Help your sister smile

D-10 = No Vote

Regarding the supporting materials...

I'm having a bit of fun with it, so I don't really mind. I'm not always going to expend the effort I did yesterday, but there happened to be 3 characters I liked who were all easy to write haiku for. It usually doesn't take me more that a minute or two to come up with at least something to say, and while it may be a pain at times, it's a pretty minor aggravation. I imagine there will always be griping about "outsiders" participating - even when there are obviously plenty of Japanese voters who are guilty of the exact same things they find fault with when done by gaijin. But if all it takes to avoid giving the critics extra ammunition is a comment or two, then I'm willing to play along.

And you can add me to the camp of people who are highly unlikely to vote for a character based on supporting material, no matter how heartfelt or well presented. With very few exceptions my moé properties are all based upon personality traits or behaviours (though I will admit to a slight weakness for meganekko ) and they are not qualities I can evaluate from forum posts, pictures or AMVs. The only instances I can imagine where supporting materials would influence my vote would be if:
  1. I had already seen and liked the character, but for some reason did not remember her name and/or the anime she was in. I see the supporting material and think: "Oh, yeah! I remember her!"
  2. I am having a hard time choosing between two characters that I find equally moé - like Nobue and Chika the other day - and someone's support material is enough to tip me in one direction.

In today's Korean Saimoe action, I'm set on voting for for a J.C. Staff-animated tsundere loli voiced by Kugimiya Rie, with a love interest voiced by Hino Satoshi and an innocent female contemporary voiced by Kawasumi Ayako. Oddly, that still leaves me with a decision to make.

(I swear, Eleanor from ZnT S2 looks just like Margery Daw from the neck up, too.)

I'm half tempted to do an expository piece on these girls' comparative moé merits, since I like both a great deal and choosing between them proved to be kind of agonizing. For the purpose of this vote, though, this is the concise version: despite Louise probably having a wider tsundere spectrum than Shana, girls with swords--especially ones like Nietono no Shana--always win in the end for me.

Well, 1/3 again, but at least the important one won. Now, I will not be able to get my code for today before I leave town. Good luck to Noriko though. ^_^

She says she has no sister
Yet she is crying...

Yin watches silent,
With no soul and without tears
She is still crying. ;_;

just cutting/pasting...

<<二条乃梨子@マリア様がみてる OVA>>Nijou Noriko
I think she probably doesn't have much chance to win but a vote for Noriko. The way she acts like Shimako's knight is so cool, and I like the calm intelligence with which she deals with everything. Probably my favourite Marimite character. Also that her seiyuu is Shimizu Kaori of Lain is another plus.
<<葉山小十乃(黒ロリ)@Saint October>>Hayama Kotono
小十乃を見ると無意識にもえ〜〜と言っちゃう。香里も好きけど...
Whenever I see Kotono I unconsciously mutter out 'moe'. I like Kaori too tho...
