Index Novel Sales Figures and Discussion

Buyer habits vary but that is definitely a factor. Sometimes, consumers feel they can buy it at a later date as it's not a must get compared to the other. We see this all the time with games. I cannot say this is the main reason why, but I'd say it's apart of it.

But games are so much more expensive right? It's sort of hard for me to buy that... that much though I believe you since I did ask you for an answer.

Either way, that's interesting. I also need to buy NT 11, 12, 13, and 14... I sort of really delayed on getting them... But I will soon... my excuse is that I'm in a different country, but I still feel like a hypocrite.

games, manga, light novel are all the same categories of hobbies and entertainment. if people are not buying it when the moment they were released then they aren't in their high priority and isn't really important for them. They are just buying it for the sake of getting a new book and completing their collection, and they had extra cash to be used.

digital sales aren't really that high because this are japanese were talking about. they prefer physical copies to be displayed into their shelves.

I suppose... as for me... I can buy stuff way later... It's only the things I really care about that I buy day one. This goes with video games as well. I can still like things and only get them later if I want multiple things at the same time...

depend, really, most people with multiple backlog will not buy their book immedietly since they still have other book to read unless it's their top choice/

This seem more like a transition to digital sell compare to decline to me. since not only index but many other series is showing the same signs.

maybe it does not reach 100,000.

Not bad, but that decline continues.

It will be interesting to see how the sales are in a few weeks.

I am not surprise about this decline because they release this book at the same time as SAO new LN and last time Index came out it was release at the same time as mahouka.
This week sale I want to see and from there we can guess if it get to 100 000 copy or not.

2.　35,054　*64,993　Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index Vol.15

Thoughts: Oh come on! this suck, this vol is WAY BETTER THEN NT14
(not saying anything negative on NT14, just wasnt big on it & overhype)
but Both novel were sent to die because it was release on the same month/week as other MAJOR popular LN Magic Academy Inset sibiling & SAO, it gonna lose sorry, feel the Publisher troll over Kamachi, cause all his other work are release without any major competition except INDEX

Could be that more people buy Index digitally as compared to SAO which sounds stupid, but possible. That, or more people will buy it soon.

I will buy the "soon" part, since SAO IS OUT, and I won't tell people what they want to read first. Just hope it doesn't put a negative dent to kamachi since he work like crazy
And man does he love his job, like he the only LN (that I respect) that release monthly then every 4-6 month

The decline is evident by comparing NT10 and NT15. Same period of time, but almost halved sales figures.

Well , b4 NT12 we didn't have that online store were Japan fan can buy it digitally (just remember it) so & are these sell after the first 2 week? Cause I swear NT 10&11 number were after 3-4 week

Where volume 11 on this but the decline for NT14 and NT15 was no surprise because NT14 was put out at the same time as Irregular at Magic Highschool which had an anime and is now getting a movie. NT15 is even worse because it was put out at the same time as SAO which would also kill it sales.
But I would wait until I see the sales of this week before saying if it lower or not because this is last week sales.
Beside if NT15 was not release on the last day of a sale week Apr. 9. It would of make 64993 for it first week.

Nice to see sales have pick up a little bit, but its still a little lower then normal ):. At least it's still selling good.
