And oh, Athrun also joined ZAFT during Destiny. So yeah, that's what I've been saying and what the ending shows us. Quote:
Either way, whatever it was, it was permanent enough to get the Eternal to rejoin ZAFT and Kira along with it. Quote:

Kira didn't want to kill people, but he was ready to do it again, even though he didn't want to, he will fight, thats the entire point of SEED post episode 10/11. That's why he got into the Freedom again in Destiny, to protect his close ones, the same reason he got into the Strike back in SEED when he had a free-ticket off the AA. Also, i'm not going to run off and speculate on " What if " scenarios, there is no point. |

Note that later on when Minerva was going into battle Durandal wanted to take Cagalli back to Plant with him but she opted to say on Minerva and risk getting killed instead. If he'd done this she would have been stuck there for awhile with Durandal and would have gotten a front row seat into the EA attack on Plant, probably with Durandal giving manipulative speeches the whole way. And if that happened he might have managed to sway Cagalli to Zaft's side. |

I'm talking about willingly staying with the military during peacetime, which you just agreed that he did, and that's something that's only shown at the end SE IV. And regardless of whether or not Kira was willing to fight, it's different from actually deciding that military life is the path for him, and that's something that has changed for Kira in Destiny. |

While all still frame repeats, IMO they smoothed out the fight quite a bit, though the end results are the same
And they ended the Athrun/Shinn fight with the start of the ending music and a new animation of the Justice splitting its double beam saber/saber staff, and sheathing them like a badass before flying away One more episode for the final plus ending |

I was watching the battle and i ain't even mad.
Though they seriously dumbed down Kira and Athrun for like 95% of the fight..... I don't even know how they are even surviving while being distracted. Then they do some fancy moves and defeat legend and destiny in like two hits respectively. Athrun sheathing was awesome though. Anyways, i hope that they will announce a final gundam seed sequel soon. Not sure how the story is gonna be like but i want more kira+athrun+lacus+Cagali+shinn :/ |

Going by Fukuda's track record, I'm guessing that it'll be the same, because should Kira actually take damage during the fight... a Time Paradox happens!

I don't see how it would be a flawless victory. Destiny and Legend distracted Kira and Athrun for quite the while and that was really just their job i think because this show already establishes that no one can beat athrun and kira together. . Though it's not mentioned if Orb/Clyne has any time stop magic that delays the recharging of genesis and requiem that we haven't considered yet. I don't know if it is just me but is lacus seed mode a different color in seed destiny and seed? It's like grey in destiny and blue in seed |

This was a more enjoyable episode than even I thought it'd be as I underestimated Final Plus's length. I'm looking forward to next week's.

Speaking of the episode: Interesting cuts here and there. The opening stuff being mixed in is both good and bad. The Strike Freedom vs Legend looks completely out of place, especially when you consider that Legend ALREADY deployed its Dragoons a second ago. They should have just replaced the whole Legend deploying part if they were going to use the new footage or move it to later when Legend starts chasing Archangel because in that scene, Strike Freedom does deploy first to stop the Legend. The Akatsuki cut-in was okay, but like Strike Freedom vs Legend, really lack the background explosions. Of the three, Destiny vs Infinite Justice was the best one, because it actually flows really well with the rest of their battle. The reason? Because they actually replaced the older blade-lock scene with it, instead of trying to cram it into the middle of other scenes, where it obviously doesn't fit. That aside, there wasn't all that much new things to this battle. I thought they already reanimated it pretty well in the Final Plus edition, so its nice they decided to use that over the Special Edition shortened version. That said, having already watched it so many times when Final Plus came out, it comes just a little bland this time around. One more episode to go. May we please see some new ending moving towards a movie? |

I'm not sure. You can ask balofo at Mecha Talk since I believe you're a member there.
Also, as much as I would want one, there has not even a hint that there will be a movie or any kind of sequel. Either way, a new ending would most likely be limited to the voice recording they already have. (Then again, a sequel could lead to new recording, but there is no news on that, so...) |

I think most of us were on the edge on how they were cramming Final Plus in. As of the preview from the last episode, it was clear to me that they were going to split it into two episodes, although interpretations probably differ between different people. Just where they would cut between the two episodes was not clear. I had been expecting them to cut at the Legend destruction, since there was a pause there in the Final Plus, but the way they actually cut at Destiny's destruction was actually pretty well done.
