it ends with the Wulgaru discovering the wonders of shounen manga and they sign a peace treaty and spend their days enjoying manga and anime culture.

(Just joking.)

But I really do hope we get a second season of superb mecha battles somehow.

Regardless of there being a second season, I just hope the CG studio (Orange) gets more offers for work. The CG they make is absolutely amazing. I can't imagine how awesome Gundam or any other series would look if Orange did the CG work.

They're doing Code Geass: Akito of the Rebellion, if I remember right. But to be honest, the mech fights for that one didn't really stand out for me..... (the first episode, anyway).

In any case, I think the best part about MJP are the tag-teaming in some of its battles and also the planning that goes into the sequences. I'd really love to see more of it in mech anime.

Also I wonder what other mech anime will be around (aside from Valvrave ) next season? I'm going to need something to fill the void MJP will leave...

Try Arpeggio, it isn't mecha but it will have realy cool battles, techno-porn and some realy funny moments. Also it was done by Ark performence people who spent years making Gundam mangas.

Ok, this is off topic, but I really need to point this out, since someone asked for suggestions.

If you like MJPR, and if you haven't already watched Heroic Age, do so

Hirai character designs? yes!
massive space battles? yes!
cute guys and girls? yes!
drama? more like space opera!

Watch Heroic Age RIGHT NOW! seriously.

Saw Heroic Age when it first aired. great shown. I own the Blu Ray of it. has a lot of similarities to Majestic Prince.

The first episode was just an introduction with relatively short battles and few robots involved, but the actual choreography and camera work was still about as good as anything on a similarly small scale in MJP. Obviously, there wasn't any large scale team action so a direct comparison is rather meaningless right now.

But I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it, especially since apparently the second episode goes all out, according to several of the Japanese who already saw it.

Oh I don't mean to dismiss the whole series, just that first episode! But I think I'd want to see Orange work on some new mech series other than Code Geass too.

Great episode. Yeah, it had a few moments where I was afraid for Asagi but it all ended up well... for now. Great action and I love the teamwork. I was hoping to see Theoria kicking some ass but alas it was not present yet.

I think this show brought many completely new elements into mecha genre. Elements likie tactics and teamwork. It would be nice if there was some shows in future who would take inspiration in such unique approach.

Now this episode was much better than the last one. The action, tension, everything was better. And I called it back in episode 21 that the moment I saw Simon take that gigantic thing into space, he was going to have to use Star Rose kamikaze style and destroy the gate.

Jiart and Izuru have come out to fight, and Teoria has come out to do her best Lacus-clone impression and asks everyone to stop fighting. Well, have to see where this goes for the last episode of the series will take us. Will it knock this show out of the park? Or will it just end on a light, mediocre note, making the series an okay way to spend your time, but still more or less forgettable in the long run?

We will see next week! I give this episode an 8/10.

Damn shame the Asagi vs Jiart fight wasn't any longer, was really hoping for a FULL BURST before Izuru came in to help out.

It's probably safe to say only Izuru gets the NEWTYPE, full awakening for his mecha at this point, .

That's probably because it wasn't even going to be a fight. I would have just been a one-sided massacre.

That's true, Asagi only had about 3% power left at that point. He wouldn't have stood a chance.
