- In the novel, the people who escorted the Princess to the bridge were Kane, Tex Evory (First Turret gunner), and Brigado (Machine maintenance). Guess they couldn't make it in this episode
- There were no screencaps regarding the ring that Gonzaemon Katou gave to the Princess which enabled her to bypass Bentenmaru's security

Mobirates 08 - I'm Of the Family

The whole tango with Marika and the princess at the start was a lot of fun to watch. Seeing her embed herself into a normal school life was pretty cute to watch. Cute describes a lot of this episode, really. Despite the presence of a stowaway princess, she feels like another member of the pirate crew at this point. No idea on her fighting or hacking skills, but there's plenty of time for her to show us what she's got. She's even okay with cyborgs. Overall, a very nice performance from Haruka Tomatsu as the princess.

* Episode 8 and we finally get proper introductions for the main crew.
* No Chiaki? Worst episode ever.
* Princess Odango sure knows how to get on everyone's good side. But it's nice that Marika and the Doc are suspicious.
* The shot of Marika and the princess after the car ride was supposed to be sexy, right? I'm not the only one who felt that way?
* The Harold Lloyd Insurance Union?

Yes, the absense of Chiaki from this episode could be felt, but she's going to be in the next episode for sure, and it looks like Marika's holding her hand like a marriage proposal or something. Also saw that we are going to see more Jenny and the Yacht Club next week. Hurray!

Yes, I think the moon and moe are strong in our loli princess, Gruier Serenity. I can almost see her saying "In the Name of the Moon, you shall be mine, Marika." Yes, I think Chiaki has some competition in Captain Marika's harem(I think she has three in hers now: Chiaki, Mami and Gruier). I could definately see why all the girls would be fawning over the Princess.

Misa is the craziest driver since Irisviel. Loved seeing Marika's and Gruier's reactions after the wild ride they had in Misa's car. I suppose Kane is more used to her crazy driving.

Also good that Marika is slowly getting more authority as Captain. Looks like this golden ghost ship hunt and dealing with intrigue within the Serenity royal palace will be her first real test since becoming a privateer captain. And it does look like privateers do get the unwanted jobs sometimes from the government.

Another touch that I liked was the deliberate callback to the opening of the 1st episode in the opening of this one. But instead of Ririkia with a BFG saying "it's time for piracy", we see Marika do that this time. Yeah, maybe they'll start calling her "Blaster" Marika.

Very nice episode. I am really looking forward to more Chiaki and more Jenny next week.

These episodes always seem disturbingly short. And the wait for next week disturbingly long. I saw Chiaki in the preview... and Jenny! Looks like the Princess meets the Yacht Club next time.

So, we get the answer as to why she stowed away on this ship in particular: she knew the former captain, and hadn't heard that he'd died. What I'm still a little unclear about is why the nature of this task required her to stow away to begin with. Judging from the news and such, it seems she may have left without permission. It appears there may be fueding going on within Serenity.

Poor Princess seems to be under a lot of strain.

Openly placing her in the school... well, it does prevent folks from just grabbing her (or killing her) and covering up the fact that she was ever there. If she's officially under protection by the Sea of the Morningstar government, it could make anyone who's after her think twice before making a try.

Now, what exactly was it that they received that caused Misa to call Marika to the nurse's office during lunch? The translation only calls it "a special document." That's great, but it doesn't tell me anything. It came from the Serenity royal family to the Sea of the Morningstar government, so presumably it has something to do with the Princess, but they don't say what's in it, and they just say it seems fishy and that Marika should ask the Princess about it.

It looks like the Princess will manage to get whatever information she was expecting from the new arrival, and since there aren't any previews of a big battle next week, the cliffhanger this time will probably be resolved fairly quickly. If everyone's lucky, the aggressors will be unwilling to risk a diplomatic incident and will withdraw.

ANN confirms that it was intentional. Smart move on Satelight's part, Sailor Moon is still very popular in a number of places. The uncensored manga is doing very well here in the U.S. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some fanarts with Super Senshi and Pirating after this.

Yes, I know Marika will try for her own identity, but she is going to be compared with her mother. I just wouldn't be surprised if a few people reacted to them being alike. Ririka though is a pretty good role model to guide her though.

Jenny's my waifu too. I mean who else could pull off a red ribbon and a black choker as well as she could? Although I think we'd all have to wait in line behind Lynn

If I recall correctly, the Gruier spelling was seen on a display during the episode, so that may be where CR got it from.

Well, it's on the blackboard behind her when she's introduced to her class, but there's a Japanese version right above it, making me question whether the English version is legitimately there in the raw or if it's just a translation Crunchyroll put there as well.
