Congrats to Kinoshita Hideyoshi on winning! I guess he didn't have much in terms of competition but a win is a win. Hideyoshi actually had a tougher time in his semifinal and quarterfinal matches but Shidou was still roughly compariable to Souji and Ryuunosuke. Ruka continues to be full of surprised. He nearly manages to take a win off of Souji. I'm not sure Shidou would have won if he faced this Ruka. Ryuunosuke also ends up having more trouble with Kamito than I thought he would. Keima ends with a win but I still find it hard to believe just how bad Keima did in this contest.
Congrats to Chiyo on winning! I originially expected Shiro to be the landslide favourite of 2014 but over the last few weeks Chiyo has surpised me again and again with how strong she is. I have high hopes for her next year. Now if only I could still being so busy so I can actually finish her anime... Misaka vs Asuna went down pretty close to how my end of 2014 stats predicted it would. Asuna does a bit better than expected. However considering Asuna has had SAO season 2 since I last updated my stats, this probably isn't a good sign for those hoping for an Asuna boost.

For those interested, here are my stats ranking the exhibition tournament characters.
Bold = Top 8 Blue = Top 16 Red = 17th-32nd Top 8 probably aren't that bad. 9th to 32nd are based off a single matches so they aren't that reliable. Spoiler for Exhibition Tournament Character Ranking:
Not very useful but here's my ranking for the mini-exhibition tournament: Spoiler for Mini Exhibition Tournament Character Ranking:
Seasonal tournament character rankings. A lot of the matches were spread out through the year and Fall characters may have drastically changed strength in the middle of the tournament. This is probably still useful as a rough guideline although some parts will be pretty far off reality: Spoiler for 2014 Season Tournament Character Ranking:

So... apparently all the previous Tiara winners (except for the last one) are now banned from the tournament.
No Mikoto, no Mio. Not even Fate, who probably wouldn't be nominated anyway. That completely defeats the whole purpose of Stella as the division with the "best of the best" participants through all seasons. I mean... I could possibly, barely accept the "no last year's winner" but how does this even make sense? Dang Nova voters. They have their own division. Nova won the Tiara last year, and that still is not enough? They still feel the need to remove all the powerful Stella competitors?

Sorry I am more than overjoyed to know that week after week, I won't see a certain mediocre notmoegirl sitting in at #1 and wondering if anyone will really beat her in the end.

"Best of the best" is still what I was considering viable. As the girls get farther and farther from their source material, they start losing votes. There are very, very few girls left from ISML 2008. As more and more newcomers with power age into Stella, the more of the older girls will bow out. That is the way of things. No need to artificially alter that.

I certainly didn't anti-vote my favorites. Just because some did, I should be punished? If people want a new Tiara winner then they have the right to take that into account in their voting. If they want a repeat Tiara winner, then they have the right to take that into account in their voting. Also, if the point was to prevent a repeat Tiara winner, then why are you keeping the one that actually won last year in the tournament?! Considering he way it's being applied it really comes across as nothing more then anti-older characters, and pro-new characters. If that's the case, why not just go the full nine yards and ban every character that hasn't appeared in an anime this year, like all the other Moe contests do. The thing that was the coolest about ISML was that older characters were allowed to compete. Now that's crippled.

The old guard is passing out of favor slowly. Let them fade naturally rather than an imposed "kick them out" move. Their numbers are slipping, even Kanade's numbers. Shana is not the powerhouse she once was. Though Haruhi and Yuki might make a comeback this year once the Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan starts.

The main reason of why Kotori is the only Tiara Holder that can participate this year is to give her a chance of getting a Necklace and to be in Stella at least one year, she will not participate in Postseason I & II. It's the same with the Male division, Oreki, Lelouch, Hideyoshi and Kirito can be nominated to this year regular season but they can't participate in the Post season .
I actually like this, instead of thinking Which render are they going to use for the new Aquamarine Kanade poster? there will be now the question of who is going to win the Aq Neckless.
