No, he said that Lulu would have "romantic developments" in the second season...so yeah..

and it was deliberate that there was none for him in the first season..

the only love interest "found" during R2 was kallen since sherly was there in season one
kallen however (not knowing he was zero) wasnt in the race

here is what was said..

- There'll be romantic developments for Lelouch in season 2; the writers deliberately kept them out of season 1 because they felt they needed to show what Lelouch's goals are without complicating matters (PASH! Taniguchi interview)

So they are only talking about Lulu here... I always thought it said there was no romance at all.. I guess I was wrong..

I will take this "revelation/statement" with an Oil Tanker worth of salt simply because I have never seen this statement before, and there is not reference/citation. Mind, if Koshimizu confirmed its existance, that would work to simply because I think he/she knows everything O_o .

In either case, the term "romantic developments" is ambiguous enough to not give us any new information to work with, so I don't really see how it may impact the discussion.

-edit- though it seems lovecakecookies may have referenced me said interview, I have downgraded salt size to $4,000,000 Yacht. I'm gonna try to dig up the interview elsewhere

However, this still remains ambigious, and could mean any character (like Narona notes C.C.), not just Kallen.

I guess they intended to have Kallen have romantic feelings for him all along then.. it wasn't random like I was thinking for a while

Not really imo, they can have changed their mind many times.

we have seen him go on a rampage after sherly died
and we have seen him go to great lengh to try keep kallen safe (almost dying for it)
so there has been some development in that he learned to value girls other then nunnaly to almost the same degree
dont know if its romantic or not but its a pretty big step

No, but I think what CC really needed was NOT romance, but pure true love, I mean like love from family and friendship. Something that she lacked all her life

On Kallen, we shall see how she handle her feelings. More Tsun Tsun or Dere Dere. Only the future will tell us. We can just only hope it's the latter :3

which scene? Fleija? It was mainly to save Nunnaly imo.

Well, I have already considered that KxL is official at 99% since two weeks so I can't be more disappointed than now.
