The transformation is triggered by being near death and needing the life force of the youkai to heal/sustain him. Theoretically it's possible and I can't wait for it.

I must say that I wonder if the white haired guy is bad guy or not since there are hints that he and Nagi have oposite goals, Nagi said something along the lines that she wont let him do what he wants, Of course there is also possibility that Nagi is bad which could be interesting plot twist(she is kinda manipulative).

Do you think Junk-san's ability is to "absorb" existences? He can "equip" youkai but I wonder if that is all. Each time he fights youkai he gains spiritual power yeah? Now its to the point that (I forgot his name) questioned if he was even human. If each time he fights he is subconsciously absorbing their existence and adding it to his own, wouldn't that make sense? Plus if his best friend blames him for Nanao's condition, wouldn't that fit my hypothesis?
He awoke one day and causes an "absence" of existence from his sister. Both try and find a cure. Best friend goes to CCUP to learn about absences and Junk-san did well what he did. (Only furthering his ability) and now we are at this point.
Or...I am reading to much into this and am way off base.

newest chapter seems pretty interesting, either main character or someone else has new really badass fusion form: futuristic armor with wings, helmet of this armor has similar "beak" to helmet of pharah's armor from overwatch, but compared to pharahs helmet, it has also armor covering face which is why I am not sure who is "wearing" it.

Reason why I think its main character is because armor left arm looks exactly like rokka's fusion form after it got "upgrade"(after main character fused with multiple yokai for the first time rokka's fusion form changed from old looking arm into futuristic one)
