@WING: Okay ^_^. Like I said, your signatures are just eye catching and thats probably why people post in here everyday for updates. Believe, one person on another place stuff are updated and give the exact comments here as the other place ^^.

But too bad the technique you use is only on PS. I would love to learn that if it was on GIMP, but thats okay .

It kind of seems like you're using nothing but C4D backgrounds. You should try to blend some other styles into it, just to make it a little more interesting.

Wow, I feel like a hypocrite. My backgrounds are just brushing.
As for you Mr. Oceanblue, that's your own opinion. Not everyone fancies certain styles and that is fine. Trust me, I've brushed for a long time and I've always wanted to try something new and C4D was one of the styles I wanted to learn. I'm fairly new to this so maybe in the near future I'll try to blend some brushing techniques with c4d and who knows, I might come out with something cool.

I wanted to learn gimp in the past but windows vista didn't like it lol. All my new work is made on an apple macbook pro so I might be able to get gimp on here. If I do, i'll try my best to help out the gimp users.

Haha, I know you have. I saw you on another forum.
Sorry. I was being a little arrogant with that post.

No worries bud, I remember you from MO. But yeah, so I'm here on AS providing my services and hanging out creating sigs left and right. I'm enjoying this new style and now installed gimp.

So I've installed Gimp and figured out how to use it. Here's my first attempt at c4d:

Not bad for my first try on Gimp creating a c4d style bg lol. So all you gimp users, you now have hope!

IMHO laying the C4D's above the render without erasing any of it has made the face really bad to look at. It seems pixelated and it is really hard to concentrate and focus on that image for long.

Perhaps erasing with a 50% soft brush would make it better?

Keep up the good work ^^

I used a t 30% soft brush on on to erase certain parts but again... this one the first time I was using gimp. It's a bit different from using photoshop but I'll get better at it. So far i'm missing gradient maps and my two final steps on my normal setup from photoshop. So this sig was basically my pilot sig from the gimp environment.

^ Well, it is good though, and it seems to look like the others, but maybe a little fancier in PS than GIMP. Oh well .

Good job though. I want to learn it too, but I'll wait till you can get things right.

LoL, thanks... I'm still trying to figure out a couple of more things like gradient maps. I just made this sig on the fly without knowing anything about Gimp. It was a valiant effort on my part to even experiment with c4d with this freebie program. My domain lies with photoshop but I want to help out the Gimp users as well. As of right now, I just displayed a similar style can be achieved in both photoshop and Gimp.

Just went into Gimp right now and cleaned up her face:

So now I just gotta figure out gradient maps and I should be good to go. I'll at least make 1 or 2 vids on Gimp and achieving c4d style bg.

Here's my work in Gimp:
Spoiler for Gimps status:

Just finished this collab with Echo:

We basically combined our styles together and produced a pretty nice looking sig. It's been a while for me to work with someone... but it was fun and painless. I encourage other members here to create some collab work with others. On top of that, this collab is also featured on my site (still a work in progress) at www.wingzero619.net

lol, good job BigDave

WZ's tutorials are really quite useful once you know what hes doing lol. I even learnt something new here and there. For example, today i found out that you can colour co-ordinate layers on Photoshop.

I'm such a noob not to have known that O.O

oh well.

Good job WZ!!!!!!

So BD, where did you upload my video to? I don't mind that it's cool. As long as you and others get to watch it. I'll make a gimp video on c4d style bg tomorrow morning. I'm a bit tired right now and just want to play some Ghost Recon 2 online lol. who know's I might even make it tonight.

@Echo: No worries, sorry about not mentioning that lol... It's all about the pro boxes! Gotta love them.
