All in all, however, this was another fantastic ep that showed just how far Ohana would go for the sake of the inn. It really looks like working for the sake of something and with other people really helped her grow into who she is. She's certainly a far cry from who she was at the beginning of the series. The fact she's racing on her own to find help means that she's admitting that she can't do everything on her own, a stark contrast with how she was before. On top of that, she's seeking Tooru's help, the same guy who questioned her about her ability to be able to do everything herself before. Really wanted to see what was gonna happen as she opened the door to the hall, but we'll see again next week |

I find this one much better than the last episode. I don't even remember what it was, oh yeah, one with the survivalist. This episode gave all the characters enough screen time and even develop the main character further. Maybe it's just me but I like how Ohana's oblivious about the situation but she has that good intention and enthusiasm to do her best. I find her lines funny. She's just like a classic main character from Shoujo title. I still hard to find that she's just a teenager. All the girls around her act like teenagers.

Aw man, we're back to normal Hanairo episodes.
Yet, I enjoy when the writers pump up the drama level. Can the story get more intense than having the Madam Manager collapse on the floor due to old age, yet still having the voice to yell at Ohana for not thinking about the inn and it's customers? Maybe, but I'm happy with this level of drama. I really didn't feel much sympathy for Ohana's ailing grandmother; she does turn away Ohana and states she will be fine with never being visited on her potentially last days of life. But, I admire Ohana's obedience to obey her grandmother's wishes. The old Ohana would have probably stayed at the hospital. Mr. Ren. You have lost all my respect, but you gained a little bit of my laughter when you cut the cabbage at the speed of sloth. I guess Tohru will be succeeding you faster than I expected. Episode 8 Rating: 8.50000001/10 (So it's closer to 9 for the poll) |

It might come off as a shock, but often Old People have to go to the hospital. |

It was stated pretty clearly in the episode that this had happened to Grandma several times before and nothing in particular had come of it, other than being diagnosed as Old. Once the doctors confirmed to Grandma that she was in fact still Old, she could feel pretty confident about telling Ohana to go and take care of things at the inn knowing she wasn't going to suddenly croak while lying in the hospital bed.
The best part was when Chef Ren-san said 'nya'. :3 |

Indeed, it's very likely Ohana's grandmother's condition will deteriorate to the point where the doctors will diagnose her with limited time to live. Around episode 20, I would guess. |

It's not that I think it's impossible for Grandma to die. I'm mainly digging at the *Grandma IS GOING TO DIE so should spend every waking moment with Ohana regardless of work place concerns*. |
