Yeah they are that damn good, so is thank to tsukamoto mom that he's that kind and then apply it in the field, finally a good game for tsukamoto. I think kimishita is going to be the problem in the next match after what mizuki said.
Umbrella woman is kazama mother maybe? |

Boy, it's funny this episode aired today, because if you watched Leicester today, Okazaki showed exactly the same value Tuskamoto did. Unselfish forwards are indeed unicorns, but LCFC really seems to struggle when Okazaki is off the pitch. He's the epitome of "attack with defense" and linkup play.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that Tsukamoto reported Kazama's injury. Usually, shounen shows allows the player to play through injury, which truly only makes the injury worse and potentially a life-long injury. This was definitely different from the normal sports anime.
Although, I'm still face-palming every time they do an off-sides pass. I was about to chuck at the TV the first time, but luckily, they actually called it off-sides, barely. The second one with Kazama's goal was so very obvious but not called. Oh well... must shut off brain when watching this series.

I think kazama showed enough to his mother, damn he ate seikan alive all the first half and let tsukamoto take the second half, but I hope seikan start the attack because so much hype to lose just like that?, I mean seiseki is good but...
Anyway with this the tsukamoto x kazama ship sunk for now, poor fujoshis out there. xD |

It was like a sub-marine but too fast to come back to surface lol. The match was I don't know it was lame that they score 3 goals that fast and all for tsukamoto to make the victory goal... I hope the last 2 matches are better.
Well I give it credit for having 7 goals. |

I'm not really sure about what to do... I don't really like Tsukamoto, even if he has (somewhat) found a spot in the team, although I keep thinking that he shouldn't play as a forward but... it must be some kind of sin being a football mc anime player and not play in that position (Ok, in the end tsubasa didn't play there, but he scored so many goals that it didn't matter at all ) and what's worse, none of the players in the team stroke me
I will probably drop S2 I'm afraid |

Considering that Tsukamoto was directly responsible for all three goals in that last game, he seems to be doing fine as a forward to me.
Traditionally, a guy whose main attribute is covering a lot of ground would be a midfielder. But Shinji Okazaki has made a career out of being the exact sort of striker Tsukamoto is. In the Japanese style of football, there's a place for it.

Today I finally remembered this show had a 3-episode OAD sequel, and I just watched it. Much to my surprise, it was pretty damn good. If the TV run had ended with such an exciting match, I think people would be clamoring for an actual second season.

The 3-episode sequel (Touin Gakuensen) was subbed early last year, but as far as I know, they never subbed the two stand-alone OADs that were bundled with volumes 21-22.
Edit: actually, I just found some loose subtitle files for the first two OADs, courtesy of a commenter at Nyaa. I'm about to watch them. |
