My mind has been deeply tainted by an ugly genre, which made me question the current situation in the story.

But can you guys really believe that Eliza and the two old guys have really only been playing boardgames while Kururie was concentrating on learning the magic to get rid of the curse?

And now in the latest chapter those three readily left an unconscious Kururie outside while they went back to the house exited about resuming their "boardgames".


Is this the author's special way of self-destructing this novel so he doesn't have to write it anymore? Sorry I'm probably over thinking things, but like I said my mind has been deeply tainted.

On the bright side Kururie and Eliza have finally confessed to each other and it turns out that it was love at first sight for BOTH Kururie & Eliza… surprising right?

Kururie tells Eliza that he's going to die from using the ultimate magic, and Eliza doesn't want to accept it.

The chapter pretty much ends with Kururie wishing that Eliza finds happiness in the future.

On a more serious note, I think that both Moran & Pete are going to save Kururie while he's using the magic by sacrificing themselves in his place just before the magic ends.

Moran: He is the hermit.. I mean manager of the Helan mansion library, he first appeared in chapter 3.

Pete: He is a newly introduced character, he is an old school friend of Moran and Harp Helan

So I've picked this novel to read because it had some ln volumes going on, so it's not like those dead ones that have 1~2 volumes and die. The story was fine until halfway through the fourth volume, albeit too slow for my taste, but the ending of the fourth and fifth volume just came out of nowhere. The author cracked that speed up to eleven and got in a direction that simple makes one question if it's the same novel as the previous volumes and not someone ta out his account after he died of something (would explain the long ass hiatus).

Just read the last chapter and this is the fucking ending, behold

Airis got completely shafted for Eliza and then you got a confession and the next chapter the author pull this shit, I don't get it.

This whole last arc about the curse was bad.
It would have better if the land was being poisoned by that corrupt noble who hates MC instead of some old curse appearing from nowhere.

Maybe the later half and ending will get rewritten for the LN.
I'm aware some WN authors will rewrite/insert new content into their works for LN release. (ex Shield Hero, etc.)

That said, seems to me author didn't know how to end their series.

It just felts to abrupt coming out of nowhere and in the end he sacrificing himself for his land together with Eliza, common man, just move to another place.

The whole point of the novel is building a better self. He was a fatty with no friends, isolated in poverty. Then he gets a job, get fit and a girl just to suddenly the author: "do you know how hard you've been working for years to do better? Let's scratch that and have your house falls anyway, have your land cursed and the only path is to become a martyr, btw the girl you worked so hard to save, let's make her fall anyway and she too becomes a martyr to save her, that would do."

In hindsight, it was obvious that the author doesn't have his head working very well. If you consider the whole setting of the history some decisions are just stupid, like switching the whole personality of important characters like the prince and the creepy friend or canning the mc 2 friends out of the blue and never showing again. It's sad to have to waste my time with this shit.

Love the LN art for this as always. I guess now we know why the WNs been in stasis for a while now.

My final impression on this is still on hold since though the WNs last chapter was rather lacking, it obviously wasn't the "final" one.

New raw ch out. The two woke up. Looks like quite a lot of time has passed and MC's swords are now regarded as sacred pieces used to hunt even dragons.
The two do not have any memory , tough MC seems like he is still good at being a blacksmith.
