No wait, I remembered it wrong - you are right, the PSP games did come out after the PS3 ones. Must've been thinking about another game.

What I meant about the ending of Umineko affecting the prospect of a 2nd season anime was that part of the reason was the dwindling popularity due to ep7-8 (especially 8). First season finished before it showed up, but the producers still have to see if it's possible to have a 2nd season. The 2nd season wasn't cancelled - it never happened to begin with.

Factor in the poor sales from the dvd/bd (due to all sorts of reason from the show), it's not surprising that they didn't green light the 2nd season.

In the end, Higurashi is still Ryukishi07's biggest and most successful work, which isn't surprising for him to go back to it all the time.

Well, yeah, kinda did most of that for nothing, but oh well.

HELL YES. NGL, I'm loving the Unlimited Bladworks anime and eagerly anticipating the Heaven's Feel movie, but if they announced that their next collaboration was gonna be Ufotable x 07th Expansion, I would probably just explode with joy. I feel like, if they ever do make another anime, they should base it on the Kizuna version, but feature arcs from Hou too. Rei doesn't need to be retreaded, I don't think.

Didn't continue Ufo's anime for now, but I heard they added a whole bath scene for the 18 years old loli when I think about it.

Nah, I don't care about those arcs. I just want a quality anime for the real Higurashi

Come on, how can anyone be content with the Higurashi anime? The animation is terrible, pacing is terrible. Music is the only good thing. They like, cram 6 arcs in one season. Turning Shion into yandere, focusing more on the gore rather than the mystery and character emotions...

I'm saying it would be more interesting as Anime are way more easy to translate (and it would definitely be) and that we could finally get most of the story of those arcs in english, see my point ? DEEN's anime is the worst thing ever, I always said that, but that's another problem.
