Well, I just finished this series a couple of weeks ago, and my general reaction is that it was ok. The development that happened with Shana and the other girl was great, but once again they dissapointd me with a seemingly boring and uninteresting male lead character. Maybe in the movie or second season they'll add more on him, maybe not.
Anyways, the story was great, and I look foward to the movie and second season. |

Just finished watching Shana after resisting to watch it and having it sit around in my HD since EP.1 got released.
Anyway, I just have one qusetion that seems to not have been asked: Has Hishoku no Sora piano version ever been released in any CD? To stay on topic, I likewise hate Yuji. He made Shana cry... and bleed! What is it with dense male leads anyway...? |

I don't think Yuji was an ass or and idiot. He did what he thought was best. Sure he made Shana cry, but did Shana take any of Yuji's or the orther girls feelings in to account? The problem is, everyone gains such a liking to Shana, becuase it is her story, that if anything happens to her is automatically someone elses fault.
And yes, I do feel sorry for Hecate, but what ties does Yuji have to her. Honestly, I wouldn't want to sit there and have all my power sucked away (Although, for Hecate, I might change my mind. I'd fill her up anyday ^_~ but to Yuuji, maybe she's just common looking female?), and also, he didn't kill her, which he could've. In fact, he may taught of a valuable lesson, that is, go live your own life, and fill your self up, you don't need someone else. No one seems to consider Yuuji's or the other girls feeling. Had he not gone after her in ep 18 or whatever it was, then all the people that love that other girl would've of been like, "Well Yuuji is such a jerk, he should have gone and helped her," conversly since he did, all the Shana fans are like, "He made Shana cry, what an ass," it really was a no win situation for him. Don't get me wrong, I don't really like Yuuji as a character (he's too indecisive about everything), but I wouldn't go as far as calling him an ass or inconsiderate for the things he did. If anything, Shana was more inconsiderate and selfish about the things that happened to people around her. She only cared about herself, and Yuuji eventually, but no one else. As far as dense male leads, I too am tired of them, thats why I like Erementar Gerad, at least the male character there takes some initiative, or at the very least understands whats going on around him. I'm tired of seeing all of the stupid useless male leads, they need to get some more active roles for these characters. If you ever find a romance/action/harem that does that, in the next fifty years, PM me about it. Last edited by Morgri; 2006-05-10 at 08:54. |

Lol, yeah. I quite understand Yuuji's predicament. He didn't know how Shana feels about him. In fact, he was mostly confused about how Shana was acting 'weird'.
To his merit, he's quite a perceptive guy (well, not including emotions). He notices alot of stuff in many situations, and is quite helpful in that way. Alastor recognizes his perception, that's got to mean something. He's also quite strong, in the sense that he quickly recovers from the knowledge of his death. As noted by many Flamehazes, most give up; not for Yuuji, he chose to live the last bits of his life as a human. That is something really commendable. As for Yoshida Kazumi, I think Shana has stronger feelings for Yuuji. I guess I don't have to type it out, since I think most of you are thinking of the same thing (Flamehaze's duty or Yuuji). Although it can also be argued that aside from bento's, Yoshida hasn't really been given a chance to show how deep her feelings are for Yuuji. OT: Kyon from SHnY, is quite a nice male lead. Easily topples over my list of all-time best male leads and gets a high place. |

The only place left for it to appear, would be with the movie OST, or with the DVD's.
