"Ryner you are a really nice guy" - Luke
"Ryner you are nice" - Kiefer "Ryner you are nice" - gay looking man girl who got killed this episode. What's with Ryner portrayed as "nice?" He is a lazy slob who response to serious conversations with lack of seriousness and a little sprinkling of "I'm a monster" bullshit. I do not know how Kiefer ended up falling in love with him during the academy since he only sleeps and act like he doesn't care. Maybe that's what's up = she's emotionally broken and therefor attracted to emotionally broken dudes like in real life. Point is.. I see Kenshin as nice and tragic. Not this guy. He's tragic.. But he's a lazy slob whom in this whole anime so far depicted him as this master magician which all I see so far from this low budget presentation is him using lighting, fire, and getting bitten here and there which most of the time could have obviously been fatal. I mean look at that lighting tiger biting his shoulder... Why is it in tact? Why wasn't there blood spraying out in gore and death like how the tigers ripped apart other non-protagonists? What? Did the tiger softly bit his shoulder because he would like his eyes? Then why did Ryner take it so dramatically; flying back in AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *orgasms. In fact.. why didn't the tigers kill Ferris instead of making a non-fatal head wound that knocked her out. Why didn't Ferris bleed at all or show any marks? Oh i see she was there for the sex that's about it. :O I think this show lacks all seriousness really perhaps because of budget concerns. If they were fed the amount of money that made Gundam 00 so freaken great I'd think they'd be able to make a next Naruto - in Europe. Anyone getting tired of Ryner's constant whining? He's as emo as it gets with "this sucks!" like during EVERY FUCKEN PREVEWS OF EVERY FUCKEN ENDING SONG WHICH ARE GREAT ENDING SONGS BUT IS MESSED WITH THANKS TO WHINER-RYNER. P.S: I would like to make it clear of what nice Ryner should have been. He should have been saving others - Milk including instead of tieing her up and leaving her for dragon food. Not to mention how Ryner should have protected Milk when the trap was set off and 50 Million gallons of water starts rushing through the hallway - she could have died bumping her head through the rocks and debris. I should see Ryner trying to save Arua and his parents with utter desperaty and deadly executions instead of mumbling to himself of "how I can do this. With ferris. Yes we can do this." doubts and concerns then watching Arua's father get brutally murdered in front of him. I should see Ryner taking the fight seriously with those Pink f@gs to rescue Arua's girlfriend instead of being all relax and shit and saying "oh well that didn't work. let's regroup a bit - hey ARUA THE ALPHA STIGMA - you can come out now" in front of the two presumed Alpha Stigma hunters which laughably caused one of the Pinks to have an idea of murdering Arua's girl in front of him to set him off. Wow Ryner.. What if you didnt tell Arua to come out. I bet that wouldn't have happened. Oh wait a purple f@g is waiting in the shadows. It's alright Ryner you can fool around.. He'll DEFINITELY HELP US. Last edited by Methuselah; 2010-11-20 at 12:21. |

Gastark would probably be more likable if they were just downright evil, rather than have this "we're loyal to our King who hypocritically yays our quest for ultimate peace by subjugating every country under us so that no wars will happen again, in which we push forth by harvesting eye crystals while we willingly sacrifice our lives and bodies for the sake of our king."
I know Refal has pretty much said his quest for the greater good ( self-initiated by his truly ) is full of hypocrisy to begin with, but for some reason, the way he acts like it while pushing himself as a nice guy seems to be really infuriating.

This is exactly my problem with that bastard, and Gastark in general. It gets me even more infuriated when Sui comes back armless and dying (god I hope he does) and the whole scene where they're crying over him being the victim of Ryner the Alpha Stigma Monster just comes off as one giant farce. That, and their stance that it's perfectly okay to kill and harvest magic eye bearers for being monsters (then again the general population in Denyuden are guilty of this as well) makes me support whatever atrocities the bearers do like Tiir's feeding frenzy.

Good episode, I really liked how Ferris entered the scene and declared that she would be lonely if Ryner died, Ferris and Ryner development has really come a long way.
God I hate those pansies from Gastark I can't believe what he did to Rafra and especially to that girl the way her eyes just popped out was pretty brutal. I wish Ryner would have killed him off then it would be one less pink fruitcake we would have to worry about. Next episode doesn't seem like things are going well for Kiefer in pansy land, I just hope they don't do anything bad to her. |

Hence, all the warriors have a weakness against the right type of warrior. Probably because the characters that think Ryner is nice is actually seeing him for who he truly is instead of superficially only checking on what he portrays. His actions are subtle, and if you don't pay attention, you will miss it. For example, when Keifer and Sion were witnessing his duel at the academy, most others see Ryner blown away. However, in reality, he placed a quick shield spell in front of him to block the blow. Ryner will always try to help those he cares about, even if he does not succeed due to his "lack" of controllable power. What he says and what he does are two different things. Furthermore, he is standoffish (or looking lazy) because he does not want anyone to be close to him for concern that he might hurt them one day due to his Alpha Stigma. That is true sacrificing kindness. Quote:
pink haired girls = cute, but could be annoying to some pink haired guys = bad guys or part of bad guys faction that should be rediculed to ends of the world

returning to roland to form anti-gastark faction is a good idea but ryner should keep his distance from sion. not that it was all his fault, just that the guy's a king and he's got a lot of responsibilities. down the road he may genuinely have to make an irreversible choice.

On the fights
Its mostly about circumstances and intellect. Miran was not aware of Luke's relic and got ambushed. He was not stupid and checked on the background of Luke so was probably prepared for magical traps not relic powers. In a straight up battle on coverless flat ground, it probably won't be such a instant kill. The problem with the magic arm was that it wasn't relic level thus can be eaten (and in eating it, gives a big boost to Tiir's power level) The annihilation eye works only when you feed it, otherwise its a M60 with no ammo and it can't feed on relic power. Lir was aware of this and attacked both from surprise and where there was no humans or magic to consume as he knew Tiir would never eat the other eye bearers. (If the author wanted to screw up the reader or viewer's perceptions of right or wrong some more, he could have Tiir ready a bunch of live humans in the cellar as an emergency snack) Ryner is a bit like X-men's Cyclops. Too much emotional baggage to go full throttle. He keeps giving the feeling he's more willing to die. Probably give him a real reason to live (Ferris is getting there i think) and he'll go all out |

To provide some background not explained in the anime, Izuchi is a moderately damaging but yet non-lethal spell. Like I mentioned before, Ryner cannot be considered to be at his best unless he has intention to kill. And he has no intention to do so, that's why he keeps firing Izuchi. Kurenai is also mid-level but has AOE, and Misumi is weak but fastest to cast. Can't say anything beyond the fact that one of the posters above talking about Ryner is right, and for some reason, this thread seems to be unmoderated at all LOL. I've seen a few spoilerific posts over the past few weeks, and even reported one. But seems like nothing happened.

he use izuchi because it has moderate damage and easy to aim while other spell is either too dangerous or has an AOE i recalled in novel there's an explanation he didnt like to use kurenai cos it can cause a massive fire to surrounding area |
