There are basically three women of note in the LoTR. And only one does any action scenes. You have Arwen (elf...love of Aragorn, daughter of Elrond) magic user but capable with a sword. Galadriel (elf, grandmother of Arwen and ruler of the Golden Woods. Last of the Noldor)...magic user. And Eowyn...(human, Theoden King's niece) Shield-maiden, who seems to want to fight like a badass.
There are more women, but most are wifes, mothers, or medics within the story...or background characters. I think there is only one dwarf woman mentioned by name anyplace in all the stories. The elves are all pretty, male or female...the females even more so. The hobbits are either done shota or just scaled down human with large hairy feet (there are human looking hobbits and elf looking hobbits).
