For those that read the Beatless novel, why did Lacia remove her ownership device? I understand it was in response to Arato’s confession but why did she feel the need to remove it? She can’t “love” him back so to speak; it can’t be a declaration of love.

Arato’s confession was unexpected for Lacia and gave her a new understanding of humans that informed her answer about the relationship between humans and AI. Her removal of her ownership device was a gesture of reciprocation and commitment.

One last question: why did she feel inclined to switch owners in the first place (in the book version at least)? Why did she want to switch (again, in the book version at least)? Again, thank you very much for your help. I very much appreciate it. Last edited by Y Ddraig Goch; 2022-10-22 at 15:02. |
