Sekiroad-Idols Sing Twice
|
Episode 1
The thought process behind watching this episode begs to ask if someone thought to combine an isekai story with a waifu from another laifu story. What's better is how the fictional characters seem aware of what's going on while the authors may know all the knowledge as its written, but not as its played out. The key moving forward for originality is how much they play the angle of moving the story the way its written or changing events as they see fit; there's latency for an element of Determinism v Free Will, that or there's overestimation here
The smaller details are what give the impression they're trying more than usual. Being quite as a mouse on the computer to the point where someone doesn't realize they're there? Believable. The faint cracks of a broken mobile? That's actually what they look like Celestia using her sword to slide the bedroom window open? Shows off her battle experience to keep her distance from fragile objects that Gunpuku could use against her, reflects her courtesy to not break down the window, but barely misses the handle and stabs the glass anyway The moment with the windshield wipers further demonstrates a nice balance between a character not being totally lost while not knowing how things work either, as does the scene at the convenience store That moment at the end where she's non-verbally apologizing to Souta for the scar is also brilliant. The only source of confusion here is the opening scene where someone seems to commit suicide. It should also be noted this episode suffers from a mild case of Almost Panty Shot, in so far as it looks like there should be one but there isn't. And the carrier of higher levels of obnoxiousness between brazeness and coyness isn't so clear Now it's a question of whether they can carry this momentum or if it squanders this into something uninspired. There's an interesting expectancy count of 22 episodes, below the standard of 24-26, so hopefully this is a case where they have the number of episodes they need

And before that why there particular fictional characters out of millions out there. F/SN had immediately establish why those specific servants were able participate in their battle royale (they were summoned through artifacts that related to their legands), but we haven't gotten a clue for the criteria here.

I hope it doesn't go the F/SN-route (pun not intended ) and pretty much become a fight-fest & scheme-fest just to defeat each other or survive coz that would be mediocre. I hope they'll explore more about what would fictional characters do if they got summoned to real world and made aware that their lives are fiction. It would be interesting if they meet with the authors of their lives . I want a little bit of "fish outta water"-element with exploration on how the characters deal with their new reality but still in a fun way, kinda like how Drifters did it.

The word "creators" in the title made me think that the authors were kinda involved in the story, but apparently not. Well I'll stay around to see where it goes.

Watch PVs on YouTube, browse pixiv, watch anime on tablet and having your waifu as your phone's screen. He even wore glasses! Is this "Me: The Anime"? Now only if my waifu will come to my world...

So I'm wondering what kind of villains this show will have because I doubt Hime will be the final antagonist
Than it hit me... self insert fanfic / doujin characters !!! Think about it... self insert characters are often grossly overpowered, have even more crazier background stories and physical features, and everyone is sexually attracted to them. Sometimes they're even there to break up canon pairings. They're also often maligned by fans !!! But is a the protagonist a self insert character in his own way? hmm. this gets meta

I found myself liking this quite a bit. It's not as common to get original sci-fi or fantasy works these days, but this one definitely feels like effort was put into the concept. There's lots of little details and just enough points to get some nostalgic vibes from older anime like Rozen Maiden. It's a good thing. The kid's a natural Jun!
I get that it's meta on a bunch of levels, but I'll just enjoy this as a school kid getting sucked into an awesome fantasy adventure and roll with it. More please.

I greatly enjoyed the first episode. It was probably my favourite premiere of the season, actually. I quite like the character design, and TROYCA has done a great job with the art and animation. The premise is interesting, we'll have to see where it goes from here (like other people in this thread, I'm hoping that it isn't just a Fate Grail War style battle royale, even though I do like F/SN).
I've seen some people compare about the chuuni nature of the dialogue, particularly from Gunpuku no Himegimi (sword girl) and Celestia. I was fine with that because, well, they are supposed to be fictional characters in-universe. That is how characters talk in fantasy LNs, video games, and anime. Having them speak differently would have been more unusual!

Episode 2
Hmm, this episode was interesting. We got to know a little bit more about Meteora. Still really curious about that white haired woman though as we don't know anything about her. They introduced Mamika (the magical girl) this episode although I don't think she and Celestia will get along well. The guy who arrived at the end seems to have a mysterious ability too (reminds me of Susanno from Naruto Shippuden for some reason...). Celestia's creator is pretty unimpressive. I had the same impression as she did tbh. Action wise, the show still shines at that department along with the music. The OP song is one my favorites this season. ED theme song is kinda cute. Another thing I really hope they plan to explore in this show is the other words. So far, they're only narrating about them but I want to see what they are actually like.

Okay, episode 2 really got me and it was amazing.
Basically the white haired girl is the one who crushed these 2 worlds but for now we still don't know her true intentions. Meteora is the classic smart character that helps to understand what is going on while Celestia is the "meat" in terms of combat. Mamika's introducion was pretty well done but personally I don't like her too much. The way how the music fits in the fights is prefectly done, enhance the experience quite a lot. And we got that last guy who saved (?) Celestia, he seems pretty dangerous. |

Still not sure where this is going, but wherever it is it's doing well. Meteora explains the mechanics. The creator world is rich in multilayered information and possibilities that give birth to their worlds via stories. This info dump is conveyed in a what could have been a boring cafe scene when Meteora enjoys the food and remarks that the food is much more delicious.
We get more little delightful tidbits from Ei Aoki like when Meteora and Celestia fly over a fence during a tour and Meteora sulking that her Magic Book can do things. The difference between the world of the characters and the real world is shown when Mamika is horrified to see actual blood from a fight. Seriously, what are they gonna do when they find the doujins?

THAT.WAS.AWESOME!
I felt more emotion in the second half of episode 2 then in whole seasons. The clash of ideologies was amazing and the emotions were fantastic. Apply magical girl logic in the real world and this is exactly what would happen. FAN.FUCKING.TASTIC. |

Ep 02
Oh ho? I also rather enjoyed the second episode, and am curious to see where things will go. Hmm ... I think I will tentatively commit to this one. I wonder if this will be a slow burner as regards story development? No complaining, just musing aloud....

Great episode!!! Lots of funny moments, nice theories, I'm enjoying the animation, I'm so glad I got hyped to see this one
And it's nice to see that the authors of each story may come into the picture. That may give some perspective to each Story Character. Also, is it only me that's suspicious that Military Uniform Princess may be a current or future creation of Souta? Last edited by RDNexus; 2017-04-15 at 17:15. |
