There's more similarities and it's wrong talking about impact when you are talking about Alderamin, everyone have impact on story and some side characters do it even better than main cast (dead general literally gave main impact to many things and MC's father influence story despite being dead like decade).

In the first post I quoted you, you listed all the details about the series showing why it's more ""mature". I pointed out the themes you mentioned already existed in the Altina series. Next I pointed out how your comparison of the two princesses are flawed,due to the roles they play,and how they effect the story(impact)

Your response was to list similarities between the 2 series and how they were similar,and the impacts of the sub characters

Well from posts above I can see that it's more about character development of main heroine, so this novel already different in many ways compare to Alderamin (cd of main heroine here is only one of many issues and has not so much attention). Let's just say it's not my cup of tea and stop this discussion.

It had slipped me, but Altina's webmanga is already available in famitsu's site here.

The difference between himesuz and the new drawer styles gives a little bit weird feeling at times, Altina doesn't look 4~ years youger than Regis, but she is pretty much one of the best drawn characters, so I won't complain about it Clarisse gives the feeling of being blonde (!), but the extra room for her facial expression do her character some wonders.

Spoiler for Chapter 1~3:

1 : Covers the Bandwagon princess & pushing away the grey wolves.
2 : Skipes Edvard's intro and goes directly towards Jerome, who wasn't eating village maiden at the time
3 : Jerome is much more intimidating here than in the original (found that interesting), and the Bandit case was completely revamped; with the Bandits being craftier which in turn justifies Regis presence; chapter ends with the fight scene about to start.

Manga chapter 4 as been out for awhile (link in the previous post); it illustrates much clearer than the novel Altina's "inability to show her worth to her troops" while Jerome takes the helm.

As for the light novel, we have that Volume 3 is more or less halfway done in the usual place; Regis -without ail- just keeps unlocking male bonding routes; while Altina finds herself in the 'I'll marry Oni-sama' event

His statement is just a diversion, he says so himself in the bit that I quoted. Basically the prince (the one who has tried to get rid of Altina's infuence in vol 2), is trying again to weaken Altina by getting Regis in his good side, and this is done so by showing Regis some cute noble girls are 'smitten' with him and are all allied to the prince (In the long run, they'll probably go for fait accompli and steal Regis away from his position); Regis answer was to run away from the formality He was just going for a non comittal answer of "not interested in relationships", but ended up sounding gayer than he expected

Basically, the author is using homo for comedy , but not for romantic comedy (the maids are handling that part ), we could say that it's a "soft approach" to how things worked at the time (where fine tasting both, maids and homo; was quite the common occurence )




Speaking of Regis relationships, if one reads the current chapter, we have that Regis is jokingly offered 1 wife out of 2 options, an 8 year loli or a carnivorous mature lady (this includes an harem of 3 husbands ); but due to his position, he rejects the both of them. I wouldn't be surprised if his female "librarian friend" was a sort of shotacon as well ; but we haven't heard her opinion yet

I've only read the first volume, but I almost wanted Jerome to win and see how the story would've turned out. Partly because it was predictable she was going to win, and I wanted to see how Altina would handle her "plan" getting derailed and if she could adjust. Jerome's personality aside, I wanted to see how the author would've handled it.
