It does make me wonder why KyoAni chose that title, rather than High Speed!.
Anyway, the hate for this show right now is both saddening and amusing. Heaven forbid KyoAni moving into more uncharted waters and go for a female audience instead of the usual male. As for the homophobic comments, they're hypocritical at best. Two guys kissing and getting all intimate with each other is bad, but two girls doing that is suddenly a-okay, or even 'hot'. You can tell pretty much all of these haters are guys. I'll give it a try once it starts airing. I found Tamako Market (which its predominantly female cast) not all that interesting, so maybe an all-male cast will liven things up for me.

All these reactions reminds me of the hoo-ha over the Endless Eight arc. KyoAni has always been doing crazy stuff. Maybe not as flamboyant as say... SHAFT, but this is an animation company that throws thousands of dollars to animate a CGI marble in Kanon, Nichijou in general, the fight scenes in Chuuninobyu, the thinking scenes in Hyouka, etc...
Looking forward to see what wackiness they're going to pull off this time. Cheers.

But here is the thing, while Jojo is filled to the brim with homoerotism, it have never forgotten that it's telling a story about manly men, being manly while doing manly things, to a male audience. They are, as a consequence, still men. If Free have half the flamboyant homoerotism that Jojo have, I would watch it. But the instant it goes in the cliche, seme x uke thing, where the guys might be as well genderbent K-on, it's going to become a problem for me. Yes, I would watch Free, if the writers don't forget that the characters are guys. I hope those words clarify my position and the position of some people here.

Still, it is rather strange to have such an unusual title while NOT making sure it is truly unique. Someone dropped the ball in the marketing department. A sign that KyoAni is still a rookie in the business of making new IPs. Quote:
K-On was re-aired on the Japanese Disney Channel. Why did you use that show as an example of excess sexualisation? WHERE in K-On was there ANY sexualisation?

If you ask me, the whole same title disrupting the IPs wouldn't exactly be a rigorous matter in the first place (especially with such titles that can make googling for infos an almost impossible task lol)... And lol at the people who thought same titles = omg COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. Hint: Japan's Copyright Infringement Acts have no protection over work's titles. Anyway, now that's over and all, I have to admit I might be the only one who is actually excited about the cast Especially since TATTSUNNNNN---! VOICING THE BFF. I, UM. My ears are gonna be gasmed! \*A*;;/

I just played a fanmade dating sim game based on this series on Deviantart, and I could say it wasn't bad. The boys' personalities are fun and I didn't realize until a certain point that it played like a otome game. I'm still not sure about more, but the updates seemed slow.
Concerning the anime, I really liked the choice that one of my favorite bands, Oldcodex, will perform the opening theme, but I am very threatened that it gets a lot of controversy since the announcement. Perhaps they go for a different kind of audience, and since the majority of people who watch anime these days are fine with yuri but upset with yaoi undertones, that's double standards portrayed in the wrong way (even though I'm indifferent with both genres but I totally didn't mind them for some reasons ). Strangely enough, I used to practice swimming too but I failed a bit too hard, hopefully I'll watch the anime to see how much thoughts I would place in them.

I hope you're wrong. Like someone else said earlier, I'm a fan of animated water scenes. I once read in a book on animation that water is one of the hardest things to animate successfully. In addition to the cast, I want to see lots of waves, splashes, and drops sparkling in the sunshine. Honestly, well animated water sequences are as beautiful as scenery porn to me.

Haha I was mainly just having fun with that comment anyway.
But on a slightly more serious note, I think the reason why there wasn't much music scenes in K-ON was largely because they had to produce the music to go alongside it all. With the swimming in this case, it's purely just animation that needs to be done, so going off that alone the water and swimming scenes probably will be more common. I suspect they'll most likely be as frequent as the Chuuni fantasy sequences.
