I don't think he's beta exactly... I think Lyle's case is a bit more complicated than yes or no.

In one sense, he's someone that's convinced himself that he's beta. He's capable, he gets things done, he's talented. But, in another sense he's still a little beta because he's not that confident in himself. He doesn't exactly make moves on his women. At least he's not very forward with them. Though, that's probably for the best.

So, Lyle is more of a coming of age character, someone that starts off feeling incapable and beta that gradually grows into a king. Or something analogous to that.

I'm only referring to Lyle of the current translated chapters, btw.

That said, he can't carelessly just start having sex them due to a few reasons—the major one getting the harem to agree to whoever he chooses as the legal wife (aka the first one to get the D in according to said harem, which Lyle wants to think very, very carefully about), another being political responsibility of a noble, not getting your best fighters pregnant is pretty important in major war times, and lastly because having sex with your ancestors watching is a little too awkward for our shy Lyle. The legal wife is almost guaranteed to be Novem, though—the author seems to have a thing for first girls win, Novem only acts like an even relatively normal girl when Lyle's around (meaning she might start getting creepy when Lyle's away, and Novem's emotions only change when interacting with Lyle according to Shannon), and she manages to more or less get along with everyone despite not having any of their trust.
There's also Mr. Lyle who makes women moist, although Mr. Lyle just makes women fall for him and never goes further than a kiss because he's a gentleman.

And Lyle's taking a particularly evil turn as of late—marrying off his guy friends and trying to shove harems on them so they can suffer with him. I suppose there's political reasons behind that too, but it's mostly he just wants friends to suffer with him.

It hasn't been confirmed, but going by how the fact the only time Novem ever laughs (or does anything else that isn't just a light smile) is when she's with Lyle, it's probably love. Really "heavy" love, anyway. Novem's considerably less aggressive than the others in a romantic sense, but according to Milleia, she does drop hints. It's just these hints are generally off screen, so all we can do is take Milleia's word for it.

The influence from the goddess' memories seems pretty heavy, though. For example, it's lightly explained that Celes (and Agrissa) is influenced by Septem's memories so that she absolutely adores her parents and is cold to any siblings she might have. It's not yet explained why Septem's memories result in that, though.
Likewise, Novem is clearly influenced by her goddess' memories, too. It's implied the "Evil Goddess" Novem created monsters in order for there to be a common enemy for humanity to band together against, but was disappointed how humans still prioritized fighting against each other and achieve nothing in the end. It's part of why her family is so attached to the Walt house, as all them are the "strong" type to never give up and keep pushing forward with their own feet. If Lyle can get her to somehow deal with the goddess side of her memories, then she'd probably be good to go.

Looks like Lyle's father skill is a skill that cancels skills, and one so strong he can't even manage it properly.

Apparently Lyle's skill has been getting stronger ever since he kinda-sorta got his third skill unlocked, and he plans to use it to FINALLY go into Beim's dungeon to powerlevel some commanders up for his army. And not to see Octo, just to make that clear, ok?

I can see it now, he visits Octo and Octo's happy she finally gets to tell him about Septem...and Lyle doesn't care because he already knows.

Lyle asks someone with a skill to calculate the future based on available information how to solve his harem problem.

The conclusion is all roads except making Shannon the legal wife have a high probability of leading to hell.
And Novem has so many unknown factors that it's highly likely they'll both just be unhappy.
I suppose Innis' predictions shouldn't be taken with too much weight, seeing as she hasn't once managed to accurately predict Lyle's actions (thanks to the Jewel and Mr. Lyle).

On the bright side, Shannon might finally be important aside from being a somewhat cheeky useless cute girl. On the bad side, she still has Milleia's genes in her and their kids will be evil as fuck. Ha ha, all roads suck edition.

But seriously, Novem gets way too much focus compared to the other harem members to just get shafted. This is likely just a false alarm thing. I'm still on the Novem is the final boss boat (in a romantic sense, not fighting sense). The author liked having romantic complications with the main love interest in Dragoon, too...although the one in Dragoon is quite a bit more normal compared to Novem.

Yes, Damien and Maxim are both proud virgins. They both consider someone being with anyone aside from their one true partner, at any point in time, to be pitiful. Lyle and them get along great because of this, sadly. Baldoa's been around the block even before Lyle's sudden marriage arrangements, so he doesn't understand these weirdos.

The problem is getting the harem girls to behave. There's no point trying to change rules because if they don't consent to it, it'll just create problems. It doesn't help that the biggest time bombs are leaders of countries.

And trying to make all the wives equal status would be unproductive. The problem is getting them to not screw each other over, and in the case of someone comes seeking government affair management with the person with the next highest political power (possibly due to Lyle not being available), that would naturally be the empress. Basically the person who can speak on behalf of the Emperor. Now the issue is, if they all have equal standings and other wives don't agree with the method the woman who happened to get chosen to help deal with whatever issue it might be, it would just create needless conflict and never get anything solved. That's why there's a necessity to place one in a higher position than the others, and it also helps lessen the chances of a succession crisis when it inevitably comes to it, because the firstborn son isn't necessarily going to be someone acceptable (like a half-elf son or Qilin is kind of out of the question, or nobles having trouble accepting the child of a commoner woman). And sadly just picking any of them to be this won't stop some of these scheming women from trying to gain the upperhand through various means.

If it was simple, Lyle wouldn't be worrying over it.

Started reading this, guess its the common logic of the world, but I feel people in this story don't react enough.

Like skills are a thing, and its a kind of rule you don't ask what other people's skills are or throw your info around. So whenever anything unexpected happens, everyone just goes "oh guess its a skill"

Like when Lyle unlocked All, to allow his party members to use his skills to speed up/overlimit or whatever. I thought even as a skill, it be really unique.
But NONE of the characters react or comment on it.
Other than one line much later with damien. But when he first uses it or the time after, no one says anything about it.

Sevens has a lot of empty time. If you didn't notice, there are large gaps of space between many chapters, and not all processes are described. It's implied that he did give a description of most if not all of his Skills to his party member before you saw him use that. I also get the feeling people would be overreacting on something like, 'He didn't tell them, and yet he expected them to use them in the midst of battle!?' if he didn't.

The world of sevens kinda seens like a game-like world, but from that world inhabitants perspective.
Kinda like shield hero seen by someone apart from the four heros and others otherworlders, like, the world is kinda gamey but still real enough
So otaku robots? of course there are they are obviously the otherworlders creations, who LOVE ridiculous personalities, nothing against it.
