Usually you don't use medicine to fight a virus. You usually just suppress the symptoms and let the body do its work.
Either way, all of this was just to debunk the idea that the body died at the end of episode 3. Clearly it did not. |

It is not just a matter of having enough food and medical technology: Ethnic background also influences your vulnerability to various diseases. Native populations in areas that had been isolated for a very long time died from the common cold, and some of them are still much more affected than Eurasians. While we generally talk about smallpox decimating the Americas, other diseases including the flu continued to kill large number of Native Americans well into modern times. Their current resistance is partly due to interbreeding with newcomers and partly to the horrors of unfettered evolution for many generations, killing as much as 95% of the original population of the Americas. Also many people on Pacific islands are more vulnerable than Eurasians.
Not sure how this is in Japan, I notice in anime it is a common trope that catching a cold leads to high fever. This must surely be an exaggeration, but I wonder if this smoke is entirely without fire? Did common virus infections perhaps represent a threat to the island people into historical times? I would not be surprised. |

I don't know, I've had the flu before and I never really had any medicine used. I was just unable to do anything for a while and had to have someone take care of me. There wasn't really any medical technology involved.
....Incidentally, the body in the actual show also survived the flu on its own without any outside interference. Point being, people in developed countries simply have better immune systems. |

That Bacile was so philosophical yet like tuxedo kamen didn't do anything. This manga is amazing with the design both cells and parasites, have been very unique that way, that means why is a sensation in japan. |

Two things annoyed me:
- the cells disparaging Eosinphil. I mean, yes, I can understand wondering what she's here for. But she still stood between the civilians and the bad guys. She should get some respect. - RBC rushing to the scene of every disaster. What does she think she is, a WBC? Doesn't she have her own duties? Still, Eosinphil was cute and cool. All she lacked was some 3d maneuvering gear. Last edited by Anh_Minh; 2018-07-28 at 15:49. |

Finally! Best Girl episode appeared!!! <3 <3 <3
Too bad this is pretty much the only time we gonna see her, the hard-working Weakling made fun by all other cells but so important to fight the huge dragon-like parasites even the mighty MC is powerless against~ But was still great, a very informative episode, which clearly had a lot less budget than other episodes, but eh, whatever. Was still done nicely. Kinda wanna see how those two were in Leukocyte school as little cells. That would be adorable.<3

Not the greatest episode. I liked the zombie apocalypse better. Still educational. There are white blood cells specifically for fighting parasites, huh?
I wonder if there are white blood cells that specialize in fighting other white blood cells. |

Guys, found some pics of how Eosinphil and our White Blood MC as "children"! You think I can post two pics or will mods ban them? Also interesting that the pink outfit of Eosinphil fits her very well cause the cells also appear pinkish in the blood:
Spoiler for Looks like this in RL:

There aren't any immune cells that attack other immune cells. In general, the immune system is not supposed to attack other cells in body (unless they are infected). If it does you get autoimmune diseases. The exception are cancer cells that the immune system can recognize as abnormal and attack but usually it’s not very successful. Cancers very quickly escape immune control and sometimes even get the immune system to work for it. Guess this anime is more fun for people that are not medical or biology professionals. I have a degree in molecular biology so I already know all this stuff lol.

Still this is like a series meant for children to know more about their body, so it does a fine job in that regard. Maybe if we are lucky then Hataraku Saihou BLACK gets his own anime as well and there we have a much more realistic take on the cells lifes (and deaths). Anyway I post those two pics I found, I don't think admins can ban me for those adorable pics^^ Spoiler for White Blood Cells starting school <3:
Spoiler for The whole WBC gang is together <3:
