Random thought: After seeing that Freyja has that creepy smile even in her sleep, it occurred to me that if Windermere continue to petrify (crystallize?) even after death, that creepy smile might one day be preserved for all eternity.

Well, Kaname has even less personality, so. Being a failed idol and having some guy crush on you while you are in love with Arad for... god knows why is not a personality, not when you show almost no emiron and it's just random facts the show tells you. I can at least see why the Japanese fans think Mirage has/would have had potential. I'd take the argument for Messer if his entire development didn't last 2 episodes culminating in him getting killed. That and Mirage angsting are kind of on the same level, showcasing how bad the writing is, so I can see them being placed on the list right next to each other. Kaname though, I got no clue. And I don't dislike her, I just don't get the appeal.

The top 4 are all female, and 6 of the top 8 are female. Knowing what I know about the anime fandom, this suggests that Delta is appealing much more to male viewers than female viewers.

This voting result also probably points to the following:

1. Delta is handling its "idol anime" side exceptionally well. Maybe even too well, given...

2. The pilot side could use some help. Walkure takes the Top 3 spots, and 5 of the Top 8. Hayate and Mirage could both use some cool moments, I think. Hayate could use some moments where he kicks ass in action without needing a Freyja power-up, and Mirage could use any sort of kicking ass in action.

Anyway, it's great to see Freyja in 1st, and it's good to see that the Kaname/Messer arc clearly paid off (both characters in the Top 5).

The results seem kinda go along with my take. In any case, assuming those beside the names are the vote numbers, Mirage is just a handful of votes below Mikumo and so from the third place. Quite impressive if you consider her non presence in the show. I can't imagine what would happen if she suddenly started even talking ...

Female characters are usually more popular in Macross, even one note ones (I actually expected Reina and Makina higher positioned than Hayate and Messer, so this was a pleasant surprise). I'm pleased with the survey results, my favorites are all on the top places (besides Mirage, of course).

Well, I ship them but I don't think they were ever meant to be officially romantic, just easy fan tease to whoever likes yuri before they pair them up with guys as usually happens.
