If you mean the opening to episode 24, it was just to advertise the time that the movie airs. It wasn't a new opening.

Nope. Its a complete mystery. It was never revealed in the manga.

Since Shippuuden is airing for a while now and I've collected a couple of episodes, I want to start watching. We now have 25 episodes released, is the anime nearing the end of the currect arc?

You mean the current manga arc? nowhere near shipuuden is still at the sasori vs sakura & chiyo fight.

Yes, the anime is nearing the end of the current anime arc. I would estimate about 3 more episodes with one more for wrap-up.

I had a question about this series.
As I've heard there is a lot of filler going on right now to let the manga story progress enough.
here are my questions.

A) is the filler on a random episode basis, squished in between actual story line episodes?

B) or are there filler arcs with 30-40 fillers in a row?

My reason for these questions are that if I were to start watching the series I would like to skip as much filler as possible. So if this series pertains more to scenario B, it would be easier to skip an arc at a time.

Lastly, is there a list or guide anywhere that shows which eps are filler and which aren't?
(ex:ep1-35 is storyline, 36-50 is filler, 51-80 is storyline ect......)

Well episode 1-24 were all good, then one filler to give u flashback on the past 24 eps... then from there no fillers until like episode 96-107..108 went back to actual storyline and then until 135 ...and after that 2 years of fillers which u can not watch...and now in SHippuden they're inserting filler here and there to stall the episodes and make the arc slightly longeer..

we need to finish S x S 1st, thats 2~3 episodes give or take before Sasori jump to the new puppet . then another 2 episodes (+flashbacks before Sasori is offed) . Total 5 episodes.

Then 1 episodes (at least)combined to finish off clone fight and filler stuff before Kakashi's MS. 1 filler episodes of how Kakashi get his MS + Naruto trying to kill the bunshin with his UN rendan (+ filler how DD escape it ) . 1 episode to have Gai team hurried over and stumble into DD (maybe filler fight.. or at least filler explaination how they find him ) . 2 episodes of DBZ stuff .. Ends with Goku sending the enemy to explode in another dimension .. OH WAI- .. nvm Total 5 episodes.

We haven't reach Gaara's revival as well .. Looking at anime team abilities with filler stuff that could easily extend the part to another 5 episodes some more >.<

I'm thinking more along the following lines;

1-2 eps for Sasori to jump to the new puppet, then 1 more to die. At the end of that ep, I see MS Kakashi coming in at the end. 1 ep (a double) for Gaiden, where the end is Kakashi blowing Deidara's arm off. Then, an ep. for both the return of Team Gai and the transportation of Deidara. One more for the Gaara revival, and then a filler for the return to Konoha/blah blah blah. Then another filler before the beginning of the next arc. All totaled, 8 episodes, where one is actually a double episode, so 9. I guess it's not that far off from your prediction, I just hope it's shorter...I'm tired of how long this is taking, and I can't seem to convince my roommate to read the manga.

As far as we know, bloodline limit creates either multi elemental techniques (ice and wood) or techniques with no currently-known elements (byagukan and sharingan). Single element based techniques seem to open to anyone with the right body capable of using that element.
