The disaster that used to be an esteemed reputable Wall Street Journal thanks to its "tabloidization" under Murdoch:

It's very sad too. The Wall Street Journal has gone from a reliable investment newspaper to a corporatist rag. I honestly hope Murdock has to sell the Journal to a group of more truth minded individuals interested in actual capitalism rather than corporate-socialism. Perhaps with a more "Austrian" viewpoint for a change.

Not to poke too hard, it does seem to be a rough ride for China's leadership in coming to grips with global citizenship being an "all directions" street. The commentator Tavis Smiley has a week's segment this month on his visit to China, including discussion with high school youth and such. Whatever you think of him, it was an interesting interchange.

Also, for the latest "missing girl" case (of which Millie Dowler was one) using these methods they can find out about the investigation before anyone else. Also, if you're coming from an american perspective, British Tabloids are veeery different from American Tabloids. They have no direct American Analog. Stuff like the National Enquiror isn't expected to be truthful. Likewise, it's harder to sue for Libel in the US. Last edited by DonQuigleone; 2011-07-16 at 13:45. |

20 years down the road, when US descends into a civil war and becomes a gigantic Somalia across the Pacific, my government will bend over and hand over Singapore to them. Then you'll see me in a gulag for opposing their hegemonic ambitions - screw their "communism with Chinese characteristics".

Bloody hell, this is the kind of implosive stuff I was wondering would start bubbling up:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/17/wo.../17police.html Not just a newspaper that used to be respected before Murdoch but now an agency of the government - Scotland Yard - is now spiraling into the mud as the light is shone on the revolving door between the Murdoch operations and the government crime investigation unit.
