Got myself a Toynami Chii for a really good price. It certainly is a cute figure (more like a toy) but nothing special, and now with SEGA Moka and WAVE Eri Sawachika I have three 1/10 scale figures
Spoiler for Pics:

Figure prices are really climbing lol, I'm going to be skipping lots of figures and concentrating on Figmas and Nendoroids if the prices continue climbing. But again, Figmas and Nendoroids are making a killing by numbers.

Ah, good to see Revoltech return to its roots, and with Evangelion no less.

Question, how many people pre-order their figures? And how many of those who do, pre-order them months and months in advance?
I've started to do this because I was annoyed with having to buy things off eBay later on at a premium. My Alpha x Omega CC and Yami were both this way because I waited too long. Though I didn't get ripped off too much vs the normal price. However now I'm annoyed that I'm pre-ordering things upto half a year in advance. The waiting is killing me! lol. An Example would be the Black Rock Shooter figure by Good Smile Company, I pre-ordered that 2 months ago, I think there's still a 3-4 month wait till it ships! There's just no winning is there. Additional question, and I'm not sure if this thread is the best to ask it or not but I'll ask anyway and you can hopefully direct me properly. I reside in Canada, and am trying to find maybe a better place to purchase my anime figures from. Currently I'm using Toys Logic, but this of course increases my wait time, since they need to receive the figure before it can ship. That said, I've had no issues with them, just that everything tends to arrive a month after everyone and their mother already has theirs. So far I've used Toys Logic (6 [+7]), Play-Asia (1), and eBay (3) for a total of 10 figures shipped and 7 pre-ordered. I've considered using Hobby Link Japan, but have heard some horror stories where they'll say they'll get you something, take your money, and sit on it forever and never ship anything in the end. Play-Asia shipped quite fast, and no complaints there either. Anyway, to end an already long post, where do other Canadians, or more specifically Ontarians, purchase their anime figures, and what's the general cost of shipping tend to be? |

I always preorder figures, right now I have Saber Lily and Swimsuit Nanoha on preorder since the day preorders started, some months ago. Preorder is the only way to go for popular figures, IF you actually manage to preorder and not get a preorder quota reached/preorder closed/stop order/whatever.

Well they weren't that expensive 2 years ago but the already inflated prices back then became further inflated ever since. In some cases, we're talking about 50%+ increase in price... It's totally ridiculous. I used to buy a figure each month, now it's a figure every 4-5 months, if at all.

Now lately I have other priorities than figs, but in the past I've always ordered thru HLJ and to this day I've never had a problem, I have had -on rare occasion- shipments that took longer than 28 days This was the downside of SAL shipping where time of departure is never set

Are we talking with or without EMS charges? Well, an average PVC figure (normal 1/8 or 1/7) right now is around 50-70euro (used to be 30-50 tops), add around 20+ euro usuall for EMS and it's pretty bleak (yes, it's more in dollars). You can drive the EMS cost per figure down if you have multiple figures shipped together, but in general, the figure prices are too prohibiting now, with the only real cheap choice being Figma.
