To be honest, I cannot watch the anime. The Kanokon-like designs put me off.

Ditto. I only ever watched two clips from the show 1) to hear the voices 2) to see the scene of Momo doing incredibly dirty things to Nana's tail (It was glorious)

Well, I take back all I said about the Motto To Love Ru animation being just a Kanokon/LvB ripoff. Also, my GOSH YAMI IS BRIGHT! I mean she is not just white, SHE IS BIOLUMINESCENT! Mosquito bites/cherries are an understatement for these girls.

The OVAs' designs were total crap, but Motto's were pretty damn good and rather faithful to the manga designs. Though of course, the manga's art remains far superior.

I personally found the anime, ova's and Motto's artwork great. I do agree on the manga art is superior to the animes.

Yeah, there's just something distinctly unattractive about it which makes the OVAs a chore for me to watch, it's for that same reason why I was never able to get into Ladies vs. Butlers.

At least they're using Motto's designs for the new book, though I think Yabuki-sensei collaborating with our anonymous, god-tier colorer to create a future artbook would just be positively ideal. Seriously, the publishers should hunt that guy down and commission him into doing the promotional/commerical coloring for their company.

The book has illustrations from the first anime and the OVAs too. It seems very complete. And look who's on the backcover!

and on the factors of the anime vrs. manga the manga is almost always better but it doesnt mean the anime isnt good also.
