Pardon me, I guess the fans of loli-girls-with-hairdos-resembling-cat-ears beat out Satsuki there. Still, an OVA focussing on her, if not a full route, would definitely sell quite a lot, given how many fans of her archetype (and her voice actress) there are.

Well, I'm not sure about "selling quite a lot" for anything in this broader genre... but anyway, I think they just want the target audience to play the game to get all the routes. In that sense, the anime did a reasonable job at being a teaser for all the different routes and highlighting all the characters.

The psp game and the anime discs didn't sell that "well" despite all the advertisement that was used to promote it ....
Even ImaImo was a very mild low succes when it came to sales In my opinion the Koichoco anime was a bust for what it was trying to do in every aspect |

I have to wonder what it was that made it flop compared to the better selling Amagami and Yosuga no Sora anime adaptations, then. YnS had a better omnibus format and the taboo nature of one of its most popular characters, but that can't be everything.

The anime focused a lot on the election, and that would have made going with the Satsuki route a more smoothly flowing narrative. This would have also been my personal preference. Alternatively, they could have downplayed the election narrative and put more time/focus on Chisato/Oojima. This also would have made the narrative feel more smooth and fulfilling, imo. By focusing heavily on the election, but also going with Chisato/Oojima, the narrative had this uneven feeling, imo. I liked Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate, but it was in spite of the main romance, and if a lot of other people didn't like the main romance, then that couldn't be good for sales.

Yeah, they focused a lot on election and increased Satsuki's appearance in the episodes and then suddenly threw her out and plugged in Chisato.
That was very anti-climatic in terms of developing romance b/w Satsuki and Oojima. That's why I didn't really like the anime ending and overall impression wasn't good either due to romance/plot jerking.
