The general OC-thread timeline is too hard to figure out. Some of them are not even set down in stone yet, merely thoughts and such but I'm digressing. I remember someone saying we need a TSAB for the OC thread, What I think we need more is another Infinite Library librarian instead. Poor Elio is already doing his best to keep track of all our OC but we need someone to keep track of all the scenarios that keep appearing all over the place.
With that said, here's chapter 1. Spoiler for Chapter 1 - Disappearance:

*stares at Vita* Meh, the only one I've been sticking with is Clannad. I started Gundam 00, but I can always catch up on that easily. I've seen characters with odd magic, but never one that was impaired. That's part of Emili's theme: "Breaking limits."

Clannad turns out to be surprisingly more entertaining then I initially thought, though the fact that the main lead is the girl I like the least is somewhat disapointing. Though that has made me itchy to start playing the game as soon as the translation comes out. Prism Ark just doesn't stop disapointing me. Among one the my highest anticipated shows, I'm severely disapointed that this turned out to be a garbage license anime, only intent to squirt a bit more money without any thought. The anime has made me hate Hyaweh to the core in the very first episode, and not many anime can do that. Yet one more I want to play the game of, only this time to get real quallity instead of the garbage that is the anime. |

I've managed to get a fair idea, but mostly what I do now is consider NBC to be the main "background" and with various things being slight variations on it fanon AU basically, as long as you don't do anything to crazy most stuff can be made to fit in NBC with a bit of wedging and grease, it's also the main time line most OCs exist it so really serious interaction tends to take place in some variation on it. The simplest solution might simply be to have the writer specify clearly what if any timeline, the timeframe, etc at the start of their works. If we had a heading like that you could cut down on confusion quite a bit. I know my OCs exist in one form or another in pretty much all timeliness since they're toward the periphery it's hard to alter the universe so much they can't appear in it. Though minor details change my OC in Guradaisn for instance won't have fought a major war, but rather a smallish border dispute. Last edited by Tk3997; 2007-11-14 at 15:42. |

Don't look at me though, I don't really have that many. Sorry, but dere-dere Signum DOES NOT COMPUTE. Signum is Nighty's domain really, though I'll probably write on her quite a bit in my planned works too. Ask him to do it when he's free. You have no idea how many times I read through the manga and turn on my video player to re-watch episodes just to get reference materials, not to mention the wiki (which I still feel is severely lacking) and some stuff from AS-Nano's site. Chaotic abyss? That too, though my severe lack of motivation led me to do badly in my course. But to be honest I really lost all interest in the course over a year ago, really dumb to have gone through so long in the course only to realize I didn't like it so, a little too late. Oh? Love interest? Quote:

Haha I used to love the cartoon when I was younger! K kicked major ass of course my favorite was when they gained superpower from an alien doohickey and K basically became the thing, and J a ballerina, sorry had his “natural agility enhanced”. The ep with the 6 inch high alien invaders were they end up going Godzilla inside their spaceship was pretty hilarious too. I'm thinking that's going to require some seriously heavy duty psychoactive drugs. Quote:

Blown away, I wasn't yet. But Clannad and now ef has a firm grip on my attention... To me, the story has been great so far... Though I find myself skipping to the Hiro/Kei/Miyako love triangle more often than I should Shana has been rather boring for the last 2-3 episodes... Quote:
I should start on that soon too

But from what I can say of the shows that I've watched this season is that a lot of these shows are at least somewhat disappointing. Now, let's be honest - the shows this season have a pretty tough act to follow: Gurren-Lagann, School Days, Seto no Hanayome, and To the Terra are just a FEW of the well-done series this summer. So, there's bound to be at least SOME disappointment. Still, for all the hype the shows of this season has had, few have really delivered. Top 5 shows Hyped this Season (IMO): Da Capo II: I watched the first 3 episodes fansubbed, then deleted them and just went to Random Curiosity (my #1 anime blog) to get the ep summaries. And while I was hooked @ the beginning, the show shows no signs of advancing Yoshiyuki & Koko's relationship, or of even CHANGING it. At least for the original, there was the whole "when are Junichi & Nemu going to get together?" sort of thing. Prism Ark: I want to play the game SOOO badly - if only to see what I'm missing. Practically all I hear from bloggers (who've played the game) is that the anime adaptation is crap. I'm going with them on this one. CLANNAD: I keep watching CLANNAD for the following reasons. 1 - it's KyoAni, and so far they have yet to produce a wholly sucky series. 2 - from what I've read of the game, this promises some actual ROMANCE. As opposed to say, Kanon, which was still good, but made the romance feel forced. 3 - in the blind hope that it's simply not hit the hot streak yet. For me, CLANNAD still has hope, but is definitely not living up to its hype. Gundam 00: Don't watch - though most of the bloggers are saying that for a Gundam series, it's started out pretty well. To which I say: SO DID DESTINY. Shana: Shana II seems to be focusing less on the hack-and-slash angle and more on the relationship angle. Which is fine with me, but unfortunately it's still lacking the EPIC of season 1. So, while not bad, currently not living up to the hype. Are there ANY good series this fall? |
