The general OC-thread timeline is too hard to figure out. Some of them are not even set down in stone yet, merely thoughts and such but I'm digressing. I remember someone saying we need a TSAB for the OC thread, What I think we need more is another Infinite Library librarian instead. Poor Elio is already doing his best to keep track of all our OC but we need someone to keep track of all the scenarios that keep appearing all over the place.

With that said, here's chapter 1.
Spoiler for Chapter 1 - Disappearance:
Hmm.... I need a name for this ficlet... anyone got any ideas?

Yeah. And they just had to break it by Destiny!
IMO, Meyrin isn't bad. But I much prefer AXC.

No needs. All is forgiven, right?
Of course.

Couple things about that...

If Round 2 is a tie, then that means 15 minutes went by without a clear hit, right?
Yup. Grandis'll get informed about Dunamists.

Quote:
And in regards to Round 1 Arcas' victory:

Arcas could potentially win in 3 moves:

1 - Cast Afterburner, use in conjunction with Flash Move to get behind Grandis

2 - Cast Arc Shackle (see post here for description), Grandis blocks, bind takes effect

3 - Use any spell (probably Fire Shooter or Blazing Snipe) to tag Grandis.

But it is your story - do as you like.
Probably a combination of two here.
I'm planning on Arcas winning the fire vs fire element match at first.

Okay, let's try to break this down.

What Stories (to your knowledge) are part of the general OC-thread timeline?
Even I'm not sure, I'll have to do research on that.

So far Night Wizard and Gundam 00 has been able to hold my interest enough to keep me downloading every once in a while.

Clannad turns out to be surprisingly more entertaining then I initially thought, though the fact that the main lead is the girl I like the least is somewhat disapointing. Though that has made me itchy to start playing the game as soon as the translation comes out.

Prism Ark just doesn't stop disapointing me. Among one the my highest anticipated shows, I'm severely disapointed that this turned out to be a garbage license anime, only intent to squirt a bit more money without any thought. The anime has made me hate Hyaweh to the core in the very first episode, and not many anime can do that. Yet one more I want to play the game of, only this time to get real quallity instead of the garbage that is the anime.

No voting for a different sort of war. As a military man I know invasions are messy and costly, and what have we to gain by conquering them? A horde of near mindless peons obsessed with a pairing that is our antithesis? It would be like welcoming in the insurgents and terrorist! They'd rally round to try and repel the invaders and we've got a quagmire on our hands. No the right approach is to slowly seed them with our superior goods marginalizing and making them dependent it, slowly and insidiously infecting them with our culture and turning them to our side without them even realizing it... Then once they're already pretty much in our hands we roll in on them Czechoslovakia style.

Victory through superior marketing instead of firepower.

Star Wars Novels acutally aren't terrible for this they DO have people that try to check continuity, but SW is big and stuff slips through, writers also get near free reign with pretty much anything besides history or characters from what I can tell, they seem to enforce very little technical continuity. Which get's us shit like one novel talking about engaging enemy ships at 50 miles and another book discussing blowing up asteroids at 10 light minutes (I'm not making this up by the way), or one guy has shields falling from a handful of shots while others have the ships trading fire for hours with little damage, etc.

I've managed to get a fair idea, but mostly what I do now is consider NBC to be the main "background" and with various things being slight variations on it fanon AU basically, as long as you don't do anything to crazy most stuff can be made to fit in NBC with a bit of wedging and grease, it's also the main time line most OCs exist it so really serious interaction tends to take place in some variation on it.

The simplest solution might simply be to have the writer specify clearly what if any timeline, the timeframe, etc at the start of their works.
If we had a heading like that you could cut down on confusion quite a bit.

I know my OCs exist in one form or another in pretty much all timeliness since they're toward the periphery it's hard to alter the universe so much they can't appear in it. Though minor details change my OC in Guradaisn for instance won't have fought a major war, but rather a smallish border dispute.

I was thinking of incorporating to my OC-fied Fel, since Prism Ark is all about elemental spells. However, that would probably not go through the haxxbusters. So I'll probably have to go through with the haxx patrol when I start on her spell list.

(Update on OC-fied Fel: 70% complete, pending spell list and proper proofreading on history and stuff)

@Thread

Spoiler for off-topic, Fall season turnout:
Fall has been ok for me so far. Clannad is proving to be very entertaining; Gundam is intriguing but IMO still to early to consider it EPIC; Rental Magica is the surprise of the season for me; Night Wizard is pretty cliche but it isnt too bad; Dragonaut is another so-so cliche one; Prism Ark is a huge disappointment not only because of the piss poor excuse for animation quality but also for its lack of conforming to the original material; Ninomiya-kun is just your regular fanservice series of the season, nothing to expect from it but just take it at face value; and Shana II is great so far though I'm a bit annoyed by the lack of action.

The rest are some that I haven't watch, probably won't watch, or haven't watch enough to make any comment.

I remember a large discussion over what part of the mandalorian war to use for an RPG. What was written in the books, or what was given by the games?

My method is simple, anything I write is main fanon timeline, NBC basically. if it is alternate, I will specifically state so. Hell, even Keroko-week is NBC, which is why I was patrolling around for OOC behaviour during the week.

Keroko tends to vary, in NBC she is obviously how I've written her. But in AlternateS, for example, she features as Nanoha's cousin.

My method is simple, anything I write is main fanon timeline, NBC basically. if it is alternate, I will specifically state so. Hell, even Keroko-week is NBC, which is why I was patrolling around for OOC behaviour during the week.
Yeah pretty much what I'd do though it's only recently become an issue with this side story I'm ponder, but yeah this side will be a slight AU of what I had planned.

I don't even really need to do anything that radical since up until just before StrikerS none of my OC where really tied in much to canon.

That too, though my severe lack of motivation led me to do badly in my course. But to be honest I really lost all interest in the course over a year ago, really dumb to have gone through so long in the course only to realize I didn't like it so, a little too late.
I'm not terribly motivated to bust my butt, but I do like what I'm taking so I can get the energy up when I really need it.

I've been feeling terribly lazy lately, lack of motivation does that. I didn't do as well as I could have in my course this year, simply because of that. Which is why I always tell my juniors and younger friends to always consider things through before choosing a course. Don't pick one you live to regret.
And here I am on the up swing coming OUT of a lazy spell, but that could be because a major holiday is coming up and the family is getting together for the first time in quite a while.

I have to admit I've been finding it hard to find time to watch half what I've download... I've got a pile of backlogged eps for most series...

It wasn't even my idea. Saint just PMed me one day saying 'Hey do you mind if I use Keroko for a fic of mine? Only she'll be Nanoha's cousin instead of a sister'

I shrugged and said 'sure' not like I'm going to stop people from using my OC's in their works.

KimiKiss is better than I thought it'd be, but it's still around above average due to it's normal nature.

Moyashimon, Minami-ke, Kaiji, Ghost Hound are so far, the most entertaining for me. Moyashimon is made of CUTE MICROBES FUCK WIN, Minami is Lucky Star without the fail and overrepetitive repetitive jokes, Kaiji's pace is a little slow, but it's entertaining, and Ghost Hound has that surrealism to it.
"Nothing outstand..." ?

Blown away, I wasn't yet. But Clannad and now ef has a firm grip on my attention... To me, the story has been great so far... Though I find myself skipping to the Hiro/Kei/Miyako love triangle more often than I should

Shana has been rather boring for the last 2-3 episodes...

*raises hand* Ano, what exactly does "NBC" mean? *is seeing too many acronyms lately*

If anyone says "news studio," I'll end them.

Well that's quite simple it means Nuclear, Biological, Chemical... wait I don’t think that’s what you meant. No it means “New Belka Chronicles” short hand for the main fanon timeline.

New Belka Chronicles. It was thought up by Kha as a gather name for all his scattered scenarios, and has become the anacronym for the main OC-thread timeline.

Unfortunately, I'm busy working on a backlog of animes that have precluded me from watching more of the current shows running (mainly DCSS, ARIA the NATURAL, and Nagasarete Airantou).

But from what I can say of the shows that I've watched this season is that a lot of these shows are at least somewhat disappointing.

Now, let's be honest - the shows this season have a pretty tough act to follow: Gurren-Lagann, School Days, Seto no Hanayome, and To the Terra are just a FEW of the well-done series this summer. So, there's bound to be at least SOME disappointment.

Still, for all the hype the shows of this season has had, few have really delivered.

Top 5 shows Hyped this Season (IMO):

Da Capo II: I watched the first 3 episodes fansubbed, then deleted them and just went to Random Curiosity (my #1 anime blog) to get the ep summaries. And while I was hooked @ the beginning, the show shows no signs of advancing Yoshiyuki & Koko's relationship, or of even CHANGING it. At least for the original, there was the whole "when are Junichi & Nemu going to get together?" sort of thing.

Prism Ark: I want to play the game SOOO badly - if only to see what I'm missing. Practically all I hear from bloggers (who've played the game) is that the anime adaptation is crap. I'm going with them on this one.

CLANNAD: I keep watching CLANNAD for the following reasons. 1 - it's KyoAni, and so far they have yet to produce a wholly sucky series. 2 - from what I've read of the game, this promises some actual ROMANCE. As opposed to say, Kanon, which was still good, but made the romance feel forced. 3 - in the blind hope that it's simply not hit the hot streak yet. For me, CLANNAD still has hope, but is definitely not living up to its hype.

Gundam 00: Don't watch - though most of the bloggers are saying that for a Gundam series, it's started out pretty well. To which I say: SO DID DESTINY.

Shana: Shana II seems to be focusing less on the hack-and-slash angle and more on the relationship angle. Which is fine with me, but unfortunately it's still lacking the EPIC of season 1. So, while not bad, currently not living up to the hype.

Are there ANY good series this fall?
